I think 38-9 is fair unless the Coyote defense decides to take some initiative and doesn't merely react to the other team's offense (that's an observation some have made on other boards). If the defense gets riled up and gets after the Bison, I think we can make it close for awhile. Re an earlier post of mine: please, someone out there follow those students leaving at halftime and do some investigative reporting on where they all go at halftime!! I can not tell you where they go at halftime, but during my time as a student coming back at halftime I took it upon myself to ask them where the hell they were going. Shouting things such as "you know the winner of the game is decided in the second half, right?" and "please don't come at all if you're going to leave at halftime, it reflects poorly on the university" was met with nothing but responses of "who the hell cares?" The ones who do leave early are entirely shameless about it

I can't believe this season has become such a nightmare. Doesn't seem like the Yotes have progressed much if at all. I just don't have a whole lot of energy for it right now. Will probably go to the KOOL FM 94.5 car show by the University of Phoenix Stadium tomorrow instead of watching the game. So call me a fair weather fan. It's gonna be mid 90's here.
48 to 3 will probably be about right with it being 24 to 0 by mid second quarter.
Sorry to be such a downer. I was excited for this season too.
Will check in when I get home. Maybe I will catch the last part of what would have to be called the greatest upset in FCS history. Won't be holding my breath though. If the Yotes don't show up and make this at least semi-respectable I may be done for the season. Wow, I'm in bad shape.
Come on Coyotes!

That is the key for the Coyotes IMO. Get the Bison offense off the field and produce long scoring drives on offense that produce scores, even if it is just a FG. If the Coyotes get an early lead and make the Bison play catch up then it will be very interesting. The Bison always make great adjustments after halftime but the Coyotes have nothing to lose and that can be scary. I think it will be tough for the Coyote offense to consistently move the ball against this Bison defense. They are fast and always are fundamentally gap sound. Earl needs short drops and quick releases to negate the Bison pass rush.

I will be cheering and hoping for the best but I won't be surprised to see this become a four to five TD loss for the Yotes. If USD plays a great game in all phases they could be in it during the fourth quarter but if there are careless turnovers and blown assignments, it could get ugly very quickly.

I'm still calling out the players. As I said earlier, I don't give a punch of crap if they like a coach or not. They commited to be Coyotes when they signed, and if you're a true Coyote (or athlete anywhere) you don't make excuses. If you have the talent to win this game, then use it. If you're not feeling warm and fuzzy, I'm really sorry.....BUT SUCK IT UP...
I have news for all of you. The Bison are not The Meesiah. They are a damned good football team, and although they are capable of putting a beat down on us, we are capable of beating them. End of story.
If we get routed, I'll be unbelievably disappointed. If we win, I won't be shocked. Play your asses off, play smart, play with confidence and punch them in the mouth. And if your position coach chews your ass, take it and learn. Quit whining.
Lastly, USD fans need to be an entirely different group from here on out. Kids play with emotion and they respond to positive home crowd noise. Bring your A game. I'm sick and tired of what's gone on and making excuses for it. If your last in the league, so be it, but at least play as if your life depended on it.

For some reason I'm reminded of the Coyote/Bison game in 1966. Yes, quite awhile ago but only yesterday in some respects. The Bison came to Vermillion ranked #1 I believe. Our season was going nowhere with new coach Joe Salem.
Early on it became evident that the Coyotes came to play. It was a rough game - really rough with a lot of NDSU players being helped off the field. The Yotes hung with them for a few quarters before losing by a few touchdowns I think. Anyway, the Bison were pretty beat up after the game and went nowhere the rest of the season. Two years later we went 9-1.
My point? (select all that apply)
a) the Coyotes can win this game if they play with passion b) the Coyotes can hang with the Bison until halftime (time to go) c) sd4ever needs a beer today (see above post) d) we all need many beers today
Go Yotes !!!!

Watched College Game Day this morning while talking with my buddy usdlaw. After a nice piece on UW-Whitewater at the D-3 level Chris Fowler did an update about the FCS's mighty Bizun and their 31 game win-streak on the line today saying they were "at South Dakota today." Kirk Herbstreet without skipping a beat said 'That's a win." End of story, cut to commercial break. Coyotes, you want to gain some national respect, win this game. You will probably be mentioned on College Game Day next week and get some highlights too.

Well I don't feel so bad now, the bunnies lost on hobo day. If we can't win a game, I'll take joy in others losing.

Well, I had my first official run in with the NDSU fanbase. Don't need to do that again. What's up with the shirts with asinine slogans? "Show me yours" "Tackle football" Just dumb. They should be glad their football team is good, no one would have any idea what a North Dakota is otherwise.

So I went to the car show I was talking about. Had a good time too. Decided to leave early to get back home and check on the game. Of course, CoyoteVision did not work for me again so I checked in on the radio. The first thing I hear is that it is 30 to 7 and a few seconds after that the greatest team in the history of football scores again. Nice! My prediction of 48 to 3 came pretty close didn't it? CRAP!
Doesn't seem the way things are going that the Yotes are even close. I'm pretty shocked. What to do? Probably won't be paying attention next week.
Thank goodness the Jackies are now out of the playoff picture. They don't come within 30 next week.
Tough to be a fan right now.

The Coyotes packed it in for another game and got exactly what they deserved in the blowout loss. NDSU vs SD, some things just never change. The only question now will it be 0-8 in the Valley or an impressive 1-7.
