If the athletes are the problem that falls on Glenn's shoulders. He has had 3 years to get more of his players on the field. 3 years is at least long enough to show improvement with the athletisism and preformance. It would be one thing if the Yotes were making progress but if anyone thinks this is progress I have big time issue with that because this ship is going down and it looks like Glenn is going to sit in the captains seat and go down with it. All 8 Valley games were double digit losses so it's not like the Yotes are barely losing these games. They are basically getting beat by every team and getting crushed by the better teams. I am actually quite surprised that no one is posting about how angry they are with this program. Whether you like my comments or not, you shouldn't like what you are seeing from Coyote football. If anyone thinks this program is going in the right direction please post your opinion why you think that and bring up objective facts that back your claim.

First time I've been inside the "stadium". Legitimately in awe of how rundown this facility is. Any State fan that has ever used the term DakotaDump is kidding themselves I have to agree. And the construction mess just adds to it. Luckily next time USD visits you'll be in a brand new stadium.

The Yotes actually drove it fairly well during the last possession. Now a field goal attempt and even Mr. Reliable Bergner couldn't save the Yotes. It's no good from about 25 yards and the shutout remains. Jacks ball. I said to John Thayer right before this FG attempt "Miles hasn't missed yet this year right?" and I got a bit of teasing for jinxing it. However, John showed me just before halftime video evidence that the kick was actually good. It was very obvious it was good! Now, probably wouldn't have mattered in the final outcome but at least Miles went perfect for the season in my eyes.

Congratulations to the SDSU FB team on a solid performance yesterday to finish the season with a strong performance. Five MVFC teams in the playoffs is good to see. Best of luck - I think Montana St will be a win for sure. I also think SDSU has a good chance against NDSU if your OL can protect your QB. Will be fun to watch how it all plays out. Maybe if SDSU wins a National Championship it will motivate our group to get their act together.

Thank you for coming on to the opposition's fan board, and acknowledging/accepting objective criticism sans snarky reply. You have a very good football team. The Yotes didn't really show up yesterday, but we did put 11 players on the field and you still had to execute to beat us. Sumner made some nice throws to some occasionally surprisingly well guarded receivers. You seem to be playing your best at the exact right time. I cannot bring myself to wish you luck in the playoffs, but I think you could have a deep run. :-)

It seems like the radio guys on the post game shows are all giddy regardling moral victories. You could swear the Yotes won the game based on the positivity of the radio guys. Do they not realize what a dumpster fire this football program is right now. I am beginning to think that I am the only one that thinks there are major problems that need to be addressed. Lets just move forward and continue to lose games. I believe the Yotes are on a 12 game conference losing streak. John Thayler a couple of weeks ago said he refuses to put blame on the coaching staff and won't take shots at them. He is likely only taking the politically correct approach since he is on the job. I wonder what he really thinks. Does anyone think that a coaching change is necessary right now. Changes at the coaching position need to happen. I still like Glenn and wish he could have his own staff of assistants and more of them to match every other team you are trying to compare them to. Quit making it sound like they are worse than Norther State. They are not. The assistants that Glenn has have little to no experience in coaching before these jobs and its tough to succeed when everyone around you was chosen for you and they are not good. Coyotefan, I think you need to be requesting the right types of changes. The grass is always greener on the other side. Does just firing the coach really fix our problem? I say no. We need to pay more money and hire more assistants to help with the day to day grind and recruiting. Ones that actually have experience and are quality assistants. If we do not we are simply just hiring another puppet who has no shot at winning with the type of support financial and with coaching staffs to succeed.

It was also classy that Steigelemeir did not run up the score. He certainly could have scored 100 the way they were executing on offense so hats off to him.
I didnt like to see SDSU fans throwing snowballs on the field towards the USD players. That was a very classless act.

Let's not forget how injury prone this coyote team was all year long. Across the board we had our second and third string guys starting for the majority of the season. Look at the OL, 1 of 5 that started the Oregon game played on Saturday. And by the end of the game we had our FULLBACK playing RB. We lost a big play maker when Ramsey went down and Earl's hand injury pretty much screwed up our passing game for the entire season, even after he returned. I'm not saying we would have won the conference this year without injuries, but I am willing to say that there were more than one reason the coyotes lost. I don't care who the head coach is, you're not going to win a lot of ball games starting your second string guys all over the field, especially when our top players have a hard time competing in the conference.
Firing a coach is not a cure all. Nobody would have won in the conditions the coyotes were in this season. Our players flat out aren't good enough. We always get the recruits that have been picked over by the rest of the valley. It doesn't help that we have a virtually nonexistant recruiting budget. We try and do all of our long distance recruiting over the phone when other schools are having coaches sitting in kids' living rooms. We can't compete there. So let's not start with the "well another coach would have had us at least .500" arguments because it just isn't true. Joe is doing absolutely everything he can to turn this program around and it's killing him that it hasn't happened yet. But for cryin out loud, our guys just don't match up with the rest of the conference. Joe knows how to recruit, better than any coyote coach in recent memory, in any sport. He has eyes on the top recruits just like every other coach in the country. But what can we offer these kids that the rest of the valley can't do better? The Joe Glenn charm can only do so much when getting talent to Vermillion, but if you think our recruiting is bad now, we would be in a MUCH worse position without him.

Why is it that for the second straight year our team is riddled with injuries? Why did it seem like every week half our team suffered a concussion? Hell, our punter got knocked out of the game with a concussion this season. Why is it that USD suffers through all these injuries yet the rest of the Valley is able to stay somewhat healthy?
If our players don't match up with the rest of the conference then who is that on? It's on the coaches for not recruiting and developing the talent needed to compete in this conference.
I am tired of hearing the excuses. If there is a problem then fix it. If the football program needs more money then increase the budget. If we need better facilities to be on par with our conference mates then we better upgrade our facilities. Give the football program the resources it needs to compete in this conference starting now. The plans need to be in place now. There is no other option because a few more seasons of what we just went through, there won't be a single person in the Dome but friends and family of the players. We won't have a football program, simple as that.
