Well, I can't take it anymore. No calling out coaches personally, they are all to blame. Coach Joe, you did the best you could under the circumstances, thank you for your effort, you'll be remembered for being one of the greatest Coyotes ever, that's why your in our hall of fame. We are all scratching our heads as to what needs to be done. Everyone here bleeds Coyote Red, no doubt about that. It's just time to start all over again. It's going to take time, it's going to take patience, and it's going to take a dedicated effort from this university to turn this thing around. All of our other programs at the U are pretty successful, so we know it can be done. I don't post or react much on this board, I wish everyone here the best! GO YOTES FOEVER!!! I will tell you one thing to add to your comments. Assuming there is an opening and Herbster makes a good hire I can promise you that it will not take 3 or 4 years to get the program going. I am not saying a new coach will win the Valley in his first year but I firmly believe that we will see a definate impovement that every Coyote fan will know is real in year #1. Usually in year 3 the full turnaround would be in full force. The biggest thing I hope is that there is not one candidate that is focused on without giving it a true national search and a fair interview process for all candidates.

Great post Mr. coyote61! I am guessing you go way back with the Yotes. I predicted quite accurately to Mr. CF when the Meierkort era was getting shaky that Joe Glenn would be the next coach of the team. He can vouch for that. You can imagine how just devastated I am about how things have worked out. I love the guy! I came to tears at the Friday Dakota Day pep rally outside that beautiful new student union building when Joe read that funny poem he wrote about YSU. It has to be killing him. We have to put it in perspective compared to more important things in life but it is just hard. Sports are fun and it is fun to win. It is tough to lose. I still will always love USD. sd4ever I go way back to 1967 when my dad started school, and my mom worked in the student union. I used to be good friends with Joe Salems oldest son Tim(now a coach at Pittsburgh) I've probably touched about every square inch of this campus at one time or another. I even got to play ball at Inman field and played in the very first official game in the Dakotadome, even before the YOTES. These last 3 years have been brutal for me as a Coyote football fan, I find it very difficult to say anything negative about the Coyotes ever. But let us remind this Coyote administration and athletic department that made the decision to go Division 1, that there is going to be some harsh criticism for not fielding a competive FCS football program. These student athletes deserve better, not about attending the U, but subjecting them to such an awful football experience.

I will always cheer for the Yotes but the results on the football field are more than concerning. On to Fargo.

Is the Missouri state game next week yet? I'm baffled by the surprise in this board. You don't do 180's from the team last year to this year. You just don't. Coaching changes are needed and that's not debatable.

I had prior engagements set for today and didn't watch the game until now (most of the game at least, just couldn't stand to watch the fourth quarter). I just can't see any way that this staff is around come December. We'll probably beat Missouri State, they have given up an average of 65.5 points per game against D1 opponents and are somehow in a worse position than we are, but then lose every other MVFC game by double digits. Joe may have been a victim of the circumstances during his tenure but you just can not have these kind of results four years in.
I'll be watching every road game and rooting the Yotes on from the Dome stands. I'll also be begging for a new staff if my 1-7 scenario above plays out. On to Fargo.

I thought the coaching staff made many good decisions today and showed some agressiveness -- very well executed onside kick, going on fourth down a few times. The team also made some good adjustmenets to slow down that tank of a running back as the game progressed. The front seven on defense didn't play a perfect game but are a talented group that play tough. The secondary has made some great plays and at other times are out of position. They are clearly giving up too many big plays. USD has some very good athletes but they need to play with greater consistency if they're going to win in this conference. I really like Joe Glenn and respect his knowledge of the game. He is a positive presence. Unfortunately for USD, success begets success and the program is up against some extraordinarily talented teams. Let's support the heck out of these young men that are working their hearts out to do their best to represent their school.

I thought WIU's offense especially their QB was better than Youngstown's and their Bettis type 250 lb RB is a brute. Their D isn't as tough as Youngstown but not bad either. I agree with yff that the USD coaching staff made some good O adjustments. Obviously Trevor wasn't healthy enough to play and only had a few token rushes which hurt the cause. Frederick played well though as a true FR. The Yote O just couldn't quite keep up with WIU. WIU isn't even in the top 25 but I predict they will be soon. They will beat some Valley teams that are ranked. The MVFC could be FBS as strong as they are! It's frustrating to lose but certainly wasn't too the Little Sisters of the Poor. There is no doubt the Yotes are better than last year and they just need to keep chopping wood. It sucks to lose again but the glass is definitely more than half full then half empty. GO YOTES!!

How is your offensive lineman that got hurt doing? Supposedly staying in Iowa City for a few weeks to rehab. No word on the injury, but if he can't come back to campus it's probably not good.

Oh my gosh, Defense got a stop. Then of course we manage to fumble it away. Where in the heck is the OBC? MAYBE he can shed some light on this disaster. Go Yotes anyway. But I am getting real sick of being the laughingstock of the league if not of all FCS. I admit, I thought we were a lot better than this, but to say that we are the "laughingstock of the league, if not all of FCS" makes you sound like an idiot. Disappointed, absolutely, embarrassed, thats fair....but laughing stock of the FCS...come on, man. We are at the bottom of the best league in the country. Some teams in this league could compete in a lot of low level FBS leagues. No way we are the laughing stock of FCS.

This week is a no-brainer....gonna be very ugly in Fargo more than likely. Still holding out hope that we can get a win against Missouri St. in the dome. Sure wish we could've traded UNI or Illinois St. for Indiana St. this year. Sorry to say that this staff has probably run its course. Best for both sides to move on and see whats next after the season.

I'm afraid you are cheering for WIU. Why would anyone that has any pride in himself call themselves Cousin Eddie. I cannot understand that one. You mad, bro?

You are right of course and I deeply say I am SORRY to the Coyote Nation and the Team for that one. I was at the bottom emotionally when I lit that one off. I will be very accepting of everyone's forgiveness for sure. Things are really tough to deal with right now but all we can do is continue to move forward. Give it your best Saturday Coyotes! Can you imagine what would happen in the DumboDome and in Fargone if the Yotes kept it close or my gosh pulled an upset? It would be beyond description even for me. LOL Go Yotes! Forever!

They would hold a parade not unlike what happened after the UNI OT win and then probably proceed to lose the next 14 conference games.
