Yotes beat NDSU, but they need to whip MSU in order to get more respect in this league. Any team can win on any given day. I think the NDSU win is what we needed, some confidence. How many times have we been 'close' to winning games, but never pull them off? Hopefully, we can use this game as a re-invigoration and keep beating teams more consistently.

Agreed, if we don't wanna feel like the Bison did the Yotes need to get downright medieval on these guys!

We need to play with the same intensity no matter who the opponent is! That is the key to success that and minimizing mistakes! GO YOTES!!!

Is it fair to ask whether Drake or Missouri State is the tougher game? Missouri State is downright awful. I am going to assume the win but maybe that is a big mistake. If the Yotes can pull off a second straight upset and win at UNI than suddenly we are looking most likely at a 4-4 conference team. We are a bit Jeckyl and Hyde this year. Don't really know what to expect but the Yotes would have to really be bad to lose on Saturday. 47-14 is gonna be my pick for this one.

After what happened to Sam and saying some prayers on his behalf, I jokingly (and selfishly) decided to ask the good Lord for some help regarding the upcoming Bison game. After that game I thought wow, 2-0!
I have decided not to press my luck (?) any further and instead make the long trip east again to see the game with the Bears. I just hope the Yotes stay focused and the crowd is loud. Maybe I'll take some throat lozenges with me.
I'm sure the Bears will feel like they can upset the Coyotes much like what we did against the Bison. This game should show what the Coyotes are made of.

Hopefully former coyote and teammate of mine Chris Morton, who coaches d-line for MSU, gets welcomed back to the Dome with a big ole butt whoopin'! Yotes win 45-17

According to Massey:
Missouri St # 65 (1-5) @ South Dakota # 26 (3-3)
Score Prediction: 20-31
Chance of winning: MSU 22 % USD 78 % Spread: -10.5 USD Over/Under: 51

All the stats up to this point include one player we no longer have (Bouma). That Massey score prediction just might be adjusted if this was taken into account. (?)
I hope the players and fans, too, are up for this test.

I've enjoyed last weekends win as much as anyone but it's time to put it behind us and mentally get ready for Missouri State. We aren't good enough to take anyone for granted but we are good enough to beat anyone. If the takeaway from the NDSU win is confidence and determination to play hard for 60 minutes, then we will be ok. If not, if we think that win made us an elite team, Mo. State will kick our ass. I was in Springfield last year and it happened.
I think our guys have found their identity, and if so, we will be ok. My preference is no more chrome helmets or fancy uniforms. Old school vermillion and white, with a "lunch bucket" mentality. The last team to win in Fargo won out in the league in a year when they were picked 6th. Sound familiar?
Let's get a good, solid win Saturday. One game at a time.
