Just looked at their roster. They have a bunch of transfers. It doesn't have any relevance pertaining to our game this week, but man, I was surprised to see so many transfers on their roster.

Southern Illinois is one tough luck team this year looking at their schedule. Largest loss was by six points and it was to NDSU, losing their games by an average of 2.8. Just a few bounces from having a very good record. I believe that every game is winnable, but absolutely would not label this as "very winnable". Going to be another very tough game. The early line I am seeing has Southern Illinois favored to win by 5.

Massey Prediction for this week, turned out to be quite accurate last week:
Yotes with a 36% chance of winning and a final score of USD 27 SIU 32

This is simply going to be a game or weakness vs weakness and strength vs strength. The strength's when Southern Illinois has the ball the weakness's when South Dakota has the ball. The Salukis have a really good offense and the Coyotes a good defense. What will give in that matchup. I believe that SIU will score somewhere in the 30's in the game. This game is coming down to how sophisticated the Coyote offense will end up being. With a weak defense if I am SIU I stack the box and made the passing game beat me. Not only does it shut down the running game but keeps the Yotes passing and makes the game more uptempo which would favor SIU. If it's a slugfest and a defensive game I like the Coyotes in that senario. This game is about as close to a pick em as it gets.

This game is absolutely a pick em, like CF said. If the O shows up I think we win. If the O struggles, even if the D plays well, SIU can score enough to beat us no doubt. I like what CF said about strength vs. strength and weakness vs. weakness. SIU is by no means a shut down D, so it will be very disappointing if we can't score TD's on them. Not slighting the defense but SIU hasn't been held under 31 by anybody but SE Missouri St. early in the year and NDSU last week. The offense will have to carry us a bit this weekend.

It will be interesting to see the impact that the suspension has on their offense. Their QB is a hell of a player, but without one of his main weapons, hopefully we can make them 1 dimensional and focus on defending the pass and get some pressure on Ianotti. Letting Van Ginkel pin his ears back and go will definitely be an advantage for us.

Actually seems pretty honest and not like you're praying for failure. I do have to disagree about SIU scoring in the 30s. I like our defense holding them to around 21 or 24. Without their running back, I don't think their offense is nearly as dangerous.

SIU did lose a lot of talent in their recent dismissals. Their offense can't be as dangerous as it was the first several weeks of the season. If our offense can find production and give the defense a rest I don't see SIU going higher than 21-24 points.
