The Yotes do exactly what they need to do to open up the 2nd half. Drive down the field and cash in. It is looking like the winner may need 40 today. Neither team has been able to take control but the Yotes can do so by stopping the Salukis on this next drive and then putting up points themselves.

That lead didn't last long. 79 yard touchdown pass and SIU goes back up 28-27. The pace of the game favors SIU so the Yotes will need to beat them at their own game.

50 yard Field goal for SIU as they go up 31-27 with 10:21 to go in the game. It looks like the Yotes may need to find the end zone at least one more time to win the game.

Yotes have to punt with 8:19 to go. The Yotes defense absolutely cannot allow a touchdown on this drive or that would be the death blow to the game. The Yotes are hanging in there but need a big stop. Strength vs Stength coming onto the field.

Yotes get a big INT on a long pass. First down at their own 39.

Yotes can't move the ball and have to punt. It's getting to be crunch time.

The Yotes convert on a huge 4th and goal from the 5 to get the touchdown. 34-31 Coyotes with 3:09 to go. The battle of the weaknesses goes to the Yotes. Now the battle of the strengths needs to go to the Yotes as well.

What a finish. SIU lined up for a 51 yard field goal but it was partially blocked. The Coyotes win it 34-31. The Yotes have won both of their games this year that were decided at the very end. That is a different step for the program. Next week South Dakota State looms. Nice win for the Yotes.

That was fun. Impressed how both O and D and ST overcame mistakes and a couple of bad calls

Offense, special teams, and defense all came together on this win. With that said, I LOVE THIS DEFENSE!!! They are an impressive group of young men. Congratulations to the team on a GREAT WIN!!!

Coyotefan's little fingers have nothing left from that blistering coverage of the radio broadcast, meanwhile my vocal chords are shot because I was AT the Dome cheering my head off. You missed another good one buddy. Ears are still ringing after seeing and hearing one of the best crowds and student sections in years. The Dome was rocking today. Coach Glenn gets 200 wins. Yotes sack the Salukis 5 times after S. Illinois had only given up 5 sacks all season. Thought we were done late when we called a designed QB run on 3rd and 5 after 2 previous run plays (dumb), but our D kept us in this one and the Yotes got it done. 5-4 and 3-3 in the Valley and still in the hunt. Lots of things to clean up this week after some costly penalties and issues on special teams. Still, great day to be a Coyote.
BEAT STATE!!!!!

The Dome was just louder than heck those last few minutes as the Yotes won the most exciting home game in recent history. My throat will be recovering until next Saturday when I hope to wreck it all over again.
Not going to fully digest the game yet. One stat I enjoy though is that Van Ginkel now has nine sacks in nine games. Entire team had eight sacks in twelve games last year.

CF, or anyone else who may not have attended, did you by chance view the free online stream on the official website? I noticed this was the lone home game no on Midco or ESPN3, so I'm curious what quality the feed might have been.
