Coach O'Boyle was at Southern Illinois last year (http://www.siusalukis.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/bill_oboyle_844069.html). Looks like Coach Nielson is putting together an impressive staff.

His twitter is listing himself as our OL Coach/Run Game, sounds very similar to his SIU duties of Asst. Head Coach, Co-Offensive Coordinator, OL Coach. Going to be a lot of MVFC experience on this coaching staff.

Happy New Year everyone!

Looks solid. I might just have to come down in a few months to see how spring ball goes.

Lets not get to excited, spoke to some WIU fans and ,most of WIU coaches are very young and very little D1 playing or coaching experience. Lets see what they do on building a winning program.

I wish USD the best of luck. I've also heard you have a couple of new assistants looking to jump ship soon. Possibly back to WIU.

I don't disagree with you, but WIU fans probably aren't very fond of us any way. I think its interesting that some of these coaches played for Bob at Duluth; I like that. regardless, the honeymoon will be over in a few months and it will be time to see some results.

By all means wait and see the results that Nielson and staff turn out, but would not put much stock into what WIU fans may think. That comes off very ignorant but their fans just aren't likely to say anything good considering the circumstances surrounding Nielson's departure from Macomb. A very short time ago they were clamoring for our now co-DC to be their new head coach, I'm not too concerned about the guys Nielson has to support him.

I was worried that this was going to get delayed longer.

Here's another thought (Admins feel free to move this to a new thread if you feel necessary): There is not a true OC on the new staff. I see that we will be using a HC/Assistant HC system. What are everyones thoughts on this? I for one am not as used to this, but I'm not opposed to it either.
