Any word on Calvin Strong? Is his mandatory gray shirt year up yet? I recall him being ineligible for an entire academic year, so as long as he has done well in his class this freshman year he would be eligible for fall practice. Unsure if he would be allowed to participate in summer workouts... Heard he is doing better academically. Needs to possibly take one summer class and then should be good to go for the Fall. |

Any word on Calvin Strong? Is his mandatory gray shirt year up yet? Needs to pass 24 credits this academic year (avg. or 12 per semester) in order to be eligible in the fall. I believe if he passes his required credits he can participate in all team activities starting this summer. |

I did find out that your "gray-shirt" year counts as a year of eligibility today, unless I am reading it wrong. So once you are eligible as a "gray-shirt" you have 3 years of eligibility remaining, plus a redshirt year if you would like to take it.

I assume there is a GPA requirement, not just pass the classes D's and C's? Can't say for sure because I really don't know, but I would guess the GPA requirement would be the same as it is to remain eligible to play. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's a 2.0 or 2.5 |

I have no info other than what's posted here but others have kind of mirrored this sentiment in stating that it's difficult to erase a lifetime of poor decisions and that you can lead a horse to water but you can't force it drink. Just for the kid's sake I hope he is working things out here at USD, both academically and in all his life's dealings, to setup himself up properly for the rest of his adult life. |

Simmons looks comfortable and has good arm strength. Isaac Armstead has made some good plays at CB. Quite a few bad snaps, need to clean that up. DB's looks good, most of the players coming back from last year. Isaac looks to be the standout right now for replacing Mike from last year. Also, did his brother Will move from DB to WR? He looks to be a natural at the position, why was he not playing there the last few years. Also looks like there was another move from WR to CB - coaches making personnel changes i see... |
