I'd be surprised to see UND in the MVFC unless someone else like YSU is leaving, but a move to the Summit has been inevitable - especially since they cut baseball and stated they'd be evaluating their membership in the Big Sky.
That conference makes no sense in any way for them, but don't tell their fans that.

Sounds to me like and agreement to join the Summit and MVFC is in place and now they are just discussing the timing, 17/18 or 18/19 for the Summit League and perhaps as late as 2020 for the MVFC.

The sooner the better for UND to come on board. I don't want to waste our non conference games with them when they should be a conference opponent. Anyone that doesn't want them in the conference has some kind of an alternate agenda to what is best for the Summit and MVFC. For sure the Summit. They have been a fun rival for years.

UND shouldn't be allowed in without baseball. And USD should be "forced" to start baseball, too.

This would reduce the OOC games as basketball would gain 2 more conference games. It has been said it is hard for mid major MBB to get quality schedules, the larger Summit would reduce the need for one or two of those D2 games. Of course the new team needs to bring a competitive team to enhance the conference RPI.

Does anyone really care about baseball anymore?? Dying sport--chew, scratch and spit... Baseball just doesn't make sense in the upper midwest when the season has to start in March. The first month is unplayable with the weather in this region and the better climate programs are going to have an advantage. In the college world series each year there is probably on average 7 out 8 of the participants that play in good weather locations. There is nothing wrong with baseball in general but there is something wrong with baseball in the north in basically winter and early spring type conditions. Just say "no" to baseball because of the factors involved.

If I am USD and I add a sport I want to add one that SDSU doesn't already have. They already have sports that USD doesn't have. It's time for USD to build their own nitch whatever that should be and get some attention that doesn't have to be shared. I personally think Lacross would be kind of cool and if not then I am all in on hockey if it could be afforded.
Maybe there is a reason for this but I noticed that there seems to be more room between the seats and the basketball court on the side with the Corr Trust area. Definately more than on the side of the court where the players benches are for volley ball. It seems too small for hockey but does anyone know if the SCSC could fit hockey in there.

The SCSC is not set up, nor is the floor area large enough for hockey. They would have to play in Yankton and that place is a dump.....now playing games in Sioux Falls would be cool for hockey.
