Looks like the bunnies have the weakest OOC schedule followed closely by NDSU. Ironic that these are the the two top ranked preseason teams from the MVFC. Well, considering the Bison had Chuck South, EWU and Iowa for their OOC games last year, I do not have a problem with Miss Valley, EWU and RMU this year. NDSU has nothing to prove by playing 3 top teams every year for OOC games. I understand where you are coming from, but the weak OOC hurts the conference's SOS.

Strength of schedule isn't an issue for the MVFC. The conference schedule is so tough that few schools would be able to match it regardless of who they played. It may actually help get more teams in the playoffs. If teams can get three out of conference wins to go along with a 4-4 conference record, they are probably in and might even get in with a 3-5 conference record with three OOC wins. The joys and challenges of being in the toughest conference in the FCS. It"s is a very different situation than for basketball. Just did a little checking, Last year according to Sagarin, of the 11 highest rated strength of schedules in FCS, 9 were from the MVFC. Southern Illionis was the only exception.

Good point and that is why earlier I suggested that the Coyotes might want to consider easing their non conference schedule, or at the very least don't make it any tougher then it is.

Football roster has been updated on goyotes.com. They added the freshmen but there are some interesting names absent.
Jovane Parkinson Marchalo Judge Dylan Jiles Jake Richardson Nate Gunn (believe we knew this one) Michael Girres Pj Freidel Antoine Conner Noah Roberts Andrew Anckle Ethan Roth Max Frank (knee brace reported in spring practice thread) Hope a couple of these are just injuries.

I noticed this too. Some were gone last semester already. The ones that surprised me were Richardson who played in the spring game and Judge, Roth and Frank who didn't play, but I'd heard were hurt. Also, Luke Chuol isn't listed with the freshmen who are listed at the bottom. Anyone have a clue on what's up with this? I really liked Judge as a player and the other four mentioned are some fairly touted defensive linemen which we can ill afford to lose.

I feel like Chuol was in some tweets with other freshmen out at Mt Rushmore this weekend. Roberts Twitter shows he got engaged this weekend and talks an awful lot about being in Vermillion. Will be interesting to see what develops.

Also worth noting I was comparing the new roster to the spring roster they released. So definitely some guys who played in the spring game are no longer listed.

It looks like we picked up a linebacker from the Gophers, Rayfield "Ray" Dixon. He is playing his last year for the Coyotes as a graduate student. He was a 3 star recruit out of high school. He and Strevy were teammates! Seems like a promising addition to our line-backing core. Couldn't find much scouting info on Ray but he definitely brings experience and I'm sure will add to some competition in fall camp.

Looking at the roster, I get the feeling we are much more likely to see true freshmen play the D line than the O line. With 4 starters back on the O line, Jennings from Juco, Bianchi with some experience, and Scheiddinger being talked up in spring, I would think they would have to really be in a pinch to burn a red shirt off any true freshmen O-lineman. Hopefully that much raved about strength program has paid some dividends in the trenches so we can have more of a run game than the Streveler run for your life as the pocket collapses play. If that happens, this offense has serious weapons to put up points.

This is an awesome hire. This is John Parrella's son. John is the DL coach at Nebraska, a former star at Nebraska (same time Coach Moose played there, I believe), a 2nd round draft pick and a 10 year NFL veteran. He has been a ball of enthusiasm in Lincoln, recruited very well and seems to be a sound teacher as well. Hopefully some of this has rubbed off on his son. You never know with those things, but I hope it works out well for us!
