Don't engage them. Let them keep making poor assumptions and then smile when the truth comes out.

I made the argument last season that Simmons should start at QB and Strev move to a slot receiver type roll. Yeah, Austin Simmons is freaking good. I've said it as well that Simmons has some physical tools that are better than streveler. His arm is power 5 quality. Without a doubt.. Dont discount the intangibles that streveler brings. Listen to neilson talk. He is not one to give glowing reviews of his players, he is very factual in the description of them. However he has mentioned multiple times how well chris leads the team. How he sets the tone, how he makes everyone around him better. it's really hard to discount that leadership. I would suspect that Streveler's leadership will only help Simmons in the future.

Without a doubt... We have to PROVE it again at Malcomb!!! Escape it??? That's just what many of you have to snap out of. Many of you have to make a paradigm shift. The glass is more than half full baby! ... I'm looking forward to meeting you at a game so we can put something on the line that I'm right (like some Spotted Cow???) and am saving my re-quote of my prediction for the season for the end of the season. You know... right now i think if the team went undefeated through the regular season it wouldn't surprise me to see posts that we'll be one and done in the playoffs. Too each their own road I guess. You'll have to excuse my reserved tone, might be a product of watching this team win 9 conference games the last 5 years. I expect a win in Macomb to setup a monumental DDays game, but every single game in this conference is a battle - especially on the road. This 2017 team passes the eye test, it looks miles ahead of last year, but I'm not taking anything for granted. I have the feeling the team won't either. My prediction right now is 5-3 conference record. I'm game to make a fun wager with you if you have the team finishing better and want to back that prediction up. I'll be making the trip to Macomb. Maybe the loser has to wear a sandwich board during tailgating with the winner writing something fun on it.

For sure. Just something for the naysayers who say Strev is the entire team. I would have full confidence in Simmons going in and he has the ability to get the job done. It's called depth. The Yotes are not a one-trick pony.

Team has 28 total. That's a lot. Only Davidson has more at 29, but they had two games against D2 or lower schools.

Dear Coyote Football Alumni, It’s was great to finally be at home last Saturday as your Coyotes routed the University of North Dakota 42-7 in front of a filled Dakota Dome. We scored 17 points on our first 3 possessions and went on to build a 31-0 halftime lead. Our offense was led again by quarterback Chris Streveler who threw for 290 yards on 23 of 30 attempts with 1 touchdown. We also racked up 285 rushing on the day including a 14 play 64 yard drive (all runs) in the fourth quarter that used up over 9 minutes. True freshmen Kai Henry and redshirt freshmen Ben Klett led a running back group that averaged over 5 yards per carry. The offensive line was forced to go young after an early injury to tackle Nick Jensen. True freshmen Tyler Ciurej played the entire game at center and red-shirt freshmen Mason Scheidegger moved from center to tackle to fill in for Jensen. Our defense played strong the entire game, holding one of best FCS rushing teams to 102 yards on the ground and 250 total yards for the game. Sophomore DE Darin Greenfield had 3 tackles for loss and the Coyote secondary had 5 pass break-ups on the day. The defense held North Dakota to only 1 of 12 on third down conversions and also stopped them on all four of their fourth down conversion attempts. Our team continues to improve as we head into the bye week. We will use the bye week to get ready for the Missouri Valley Conference schedule that includes seven teams ranked in the top twenty-five. Our next outing will be at Western Illinois on September 30th in Macomb. The Leathernecks are currently ranked in the top twenty and feature a senior laden team. We will use this week to start our preparation for Western while working to build our depth and continuing to improve in all aspects. Hope to see you all in the Dome for D-Days on October 7th. Fight South Dakota, Bob Nielson Head Football Coach University of South Dakota (605) 658-5558

Prediction Friday! Since we don't have a game, this could get WAY off-topic.
- At least 3 more WIU fans will post on our board about USD 'stealing' their coach. All three of them will take a better job with more pay in the next couple years. - UND 37 MSU 21 - LA Rams won on the road wearing full-banana unis last night; Yotes will match that wearing full tomato next week - Cowbells. SMH.

This isn't a joke. It's an important ingredient as well as upgrading of the facilities. As one scout put it, the MVFC is an "arms race" right now. My son chose USD because ALL the pieces were in place. Mom and dad took it on the chin since it's 8 hours away...but we're happy with the decision he made.

Just did a quick seat count for D-Days vs YST... if my calculations are correct, there are less than 375 seats available for that game...! Dome is gonna be rocking vs the Penguins.
