We're still fine tuning the specifics. The fam and I are really looking forward to this game and ALL the future games for the next 4 years (crossing my fingers on this first game for our boy)! Des Moines has always been a really fun town when I worked there and expect nothing less for the game. We still have to finalize our specific plans but right now it's my wife n I, our 28 year old son and 3 of his friends, my 25 year old daughter and her boyfriend, my 17 year old boy and 14 year old girl and her friend. Not so sure so many of us are going to travel for every game but my wife n I will be sure to make every game our boy goes to and watch for the group to follow when a games close. We're definitely going to be representing at UNI and IL State. Definitely will plan to catch everybody at Peggy's (never been there but if that's where the groups meeting up, it's on. We come from a successful HS program that have played in a lot of championships, travel well and have always taken over at least one bar on game day. I want to thank Yoteforever for the invite to swing by the RED BUS. We'll definitely be stopping in and will let you know if we plan on eating as, if we do, we'll bring you the best brats in the world with all the fixins'!!! If we miss the eats this game, we'll undoubtedly have more opportunities down the line. Like we said, we plan on coming to all the games.
A side note I want to throw out there is, since we're planning on coming to all the games (and all of them are pretty much road games for us), we're probably buying a camper/trailer. This season, we're planning on hauling it up for the first game in Vermillion and leaving it there for the season. Any suggestions for a place to park it during the week, when we go back home? Planning on decking it out but that depends how long it takes us to find a decent trailer.
Again...all our thanks for the hospitality and looking forward to making great relationships with you all and having a hell of a time seeing our boys win some games...working the way up to bringing that National Championship home to Vermillion!!! (AND THAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN!!!) I've met many of the recruits and am really surprised at the great character of all of them)

Well, we knew Kennedy. Now another O-lineman. And have heard a D-lineman. No clue on the 4th. Hopefully rest are sick or minor dings.

Nice feature on Adam Harris. Seems like they're putting out a lot more football content this year compared to previous years, which is great!

I'm sure I'm missing a couple, but here is what I've got on the injury front... Out for Year: OL Kennedy (Hip) & OL Tyler Johnson (Knee) Probably Out For Year (Haven't Confirmed Injury): DL Whitcomb (Knee), DL Peguero (Knee) Out indefinitely: DL Klug (Mono), RB Gibbs (liver), RB Thull (Hamstring), WR VanderEsch (foot), OL Justin Lewis (unsure) Close To Returning: WR Crawford (Shoulder) Practicing: DE Greenfield (eye), PK Weese (Hamstring), LB Matthew (Elbow)

Yes, thanks Jay for all your coverage. Hope these guys can keep most everyone else healthy. Cannot afford to lose many guys in the trenches or true freshman will be playing and something tells me in the MVFC that 19 year olds rarely win against 22/23 year olds on the lines. It really makes me wonder if we we will see a 2nd year of emphasis on the lines in recruiting, or back to a "normal" number of recruits.

The injuries on the lines give me a sinking feeling. Feeling a bit less confident about those playoff aspirations. We've had freshmen step in and do a good job for us on the lines in recent years, but it's certainly the exception rather than the norm.

If there are injuries on the line just means we need to run a different type of offense. Good thing we have mobile QBs and 2 of them. I think the offense will still be better than last year. We can't afford any issue on the defensive side of things. Injuries there will cause bigger problems.

What a strange lineup of injuries. Eye? Mono? Liver?!?! It is just freshman year Gibbs, need to cut back on the cold ones after practice! Hoping for a speedy recovery on all these guys. We'll need every single guy on the roster ready to play no matter what. We've seen the injuries stack up the past few seasons.

Glad to see Greenfield has recovered.
