Lol...ok He taught Native American history and was finals week. It was second semester and I was only taking 13 hours. NCAA rules at the time said you had to pass 12 hours the semester before competition to be eligible. Anyway, I think I had a C going into the final, so I didn't exactly break my back to prepare for the final. But I did study enough to get my C and move on. Anyway, the day of the test they handed out the exams and it was a blue book exam. I read the first question and had no clue. Same with question number 2. I think question 3 I sorta knew the name of the person in question so I filled in a bs amount of words to make it appear I knew it. The remaining questions I had no clue. I turned it in and literally broke out into a full sweat and immediately went to Coach Coopers office to tell him exactly what happened and the fear I could possibly be ineligible if I failed the test and course no only had 10 passing hours. I also had the fear of my dad in the back of my mind if I had to stay in Vermillion that summer to take a 3 hour course to get elgible. Anyway, when I walked into Coach Cooper's office to explain my dilemma he literally busted my chops. I took it then he started laughing. Cause behind the heavy wood door was Dr. Cash and he was laughing his a$$ off because he had given me the Graduate Level exam to be funny and knew I would panic and go see Coach Cooper. Funny now but scared the crap, out of me then. That is good and I could see him doing something like that. He had possibly the driest sense of humor I've ever seen.

Exactly. Forgot to say that part. Dry humor. He was pleased with himself.
Has he passed?

You want to know how you cram more people into a small footprint, maximize concourse space, and maximize spectator experience? I came across this video on arena design. A design like this could be used inside the DakotaDome. insidehockey.com/rossettis-inverted-bowl-the-future-of-arena-design/It really reminds of that arena from the Harry Potter movies where they play that game on broomsticks.

I have always been a fan or higher and closer vs lower and further. The Premier Center seems to have the higher and closer feel to the upper deck and on a small scale the Stadium at Minnesota State Mankato is the same with a great view for everyone. The Corn Palace in Mitchell is a great example of how not to do it as the seats are so far back for how small the overall capacity of the arena is. I wish the SCSC was built steeper then it was. It is not bad but could be better.

That is a very cool concept... I'm all in! Can you say, "Sanford Dakota Dome"! or the "Dakota Sanford Dome". Gonna need his money to do any of these new renovations.

It's more of the design concept I was trying to express to Yoteforever. I came across that site and was like "that's it!". Building up with tiered decks that are at steeper angles gets you the seating numbers you want, the on top of the action feel, concourse room, boxes/suite level, everything.
It could be a three tier design with the main bowl at the bottom, suite level in the middle, with another grandstand on top of that all inside the Dome's smaller footprint. No need to blast out exterior walls.
Do the west side first and then, in future years, mimic the same look on the east side.

This is going to get done. The second paragraph of part A says all I need to know, the Dakota Dome is not ADA compliant and requires significant improvements. Being a public building at a State University that's kind of a big deal. Think lawsuits. I work with this stuff daily and have noted for years all of the ADA deficiencies in the Dakota Dome. I can walk through and just eyeball stuff that is wrong. Now, don't think this is a DakotaDome only issue, it is an issue with public buildings and spaces across the country.

The renderings look great. I wonder what the total capcacity would be? Could another deck be put on top of that seating? I notice a big emphasis on club level seating and boxes. I like the look but would like to see them do that inverted bowl concept I posted about earlier. Could do all the same stuff they want to do with club level, boxes, etc. and get more seating and better sight lines.
