It's amazing how bad teams suddenly become during Coyotes games... we must be very lucky!
That O-line today, awesome!!

That my friends was the defending champions of the Mighty Big Sky Conference. They are every bit as good as they claim to be. It was a dominating win. The Coyotes are for real, so is UND. All you have to do is keep that in context. The Coyotes are ready for the best in the nation in the MVFC. UND is ready for the Big Sky. Even in a rout like that they offer decent competition. Kind of like programable tackling dummie robots. Set the level of play and have a great practice. UND is set on stiff competition but break and bend. JBB called. He said it was the best fooball game he has seen in some time. He added Bubba = Mussman fortified. We were rolling!

It's quite the coincidence that UND's fortunes turned around last season once they were gifted pick sixes and then began Big Sky play. Even greater coincidence that their season abruptly ended once conference play ended. Constantly being at the bottom of the MVFC and going toe-to-toe with that conference's best has not exactly convinced me that the Big Sky is a great conference. We would have coasted to playoff appearances there the past two years. Even at our worst in 2014 when we went 0-8 in MVFC play with an average loss of 21 points, we still beat a 5-3 Big Sky team and lost by a TD to a 6-2 squad on the road. Just look at how the conference performs in the playoffs. EWU is the only team that ever looks like it might make some noise, everyone else gets outright embarrassed. So yeah, I'm not buying anything the Big Sky is selling. UND sweeping their conference slate last year has only reinforced that stance. I guess you will believe what you want regardless of what happens. Good for you. Yeah, what the hell do I know? 45-7.

Great game Yotes!! Dominating D and almost perfect balance in run and pass! Love the alternating of RBs to keep them fresh with a mix of speed and punishment!!

Nice job today. Your guys needed this game and it was obvious. I don't think you guys are THAT much better than us but that doesn't matter because you just whooped our asses and made most of our team quit. Hopefully your LT is fine and you guys can shut those Jack and Bison fans up. Go win The Valley. Maybe we can see you again in the playoffs.

Well let's see here. 42 to 17? I was pretty close at 45 to 7 with und getting a meaningless score. I predict the drive home will be very long. Very long.
Here we go South Dakota!

Wow. What a win. Balanced offense and a stout defense is what the Coyotes need going into MVFC play. It's always a good day to be a Coyotes but it's a little extra special today.

The gas was taken off in the second half but that's okay. The O got to work on the inside run game and that will pay off down the road. Good luck to UND the rest of the way. I hope you win the Sky, but are these teams close? No, not really.

Damn that game sucked by the Coyotes. Average play all around. Just think if UND would have gotten the Coyotes A game. I would call the overall performance a C+. OK-OK time to get real. Wow, what a performance. I nearly nailed the halftime score at 31-7 but I guess I gave UND a little too much credit. No one would have thought the final would have been 45-7. I would say without a doubt that was the best performance a Coyote team has put down since moving to D1. They have played tougher teams but never have they absolutely shellacked a top 10 FCS team. Domination all the way. UND thought their D was pretty good but the team that nearly pitched the shutout was our Yotes. I thought maybe the Coyote D was under-rated pre game and man o man did they play a game today. My three factors that I thought would stunt the Coyote growth this year were both lines and the defense in general. It is a good sign that this quickly into year 2 that the Coyotes are improving their weaknesses this dramatically. I always think the off season recruiting optimism is over rated but this year it finally looks like Nielson and staffs hard work is paying off. Recruiting success is not measured until those recruits perform well in real Coyote games and get real results on the scoreboard and for now anyway that is happening with flying colors.
With every good intention I think there were some things that the UND fans completely over looked or didn't know about this Coyote program. I don't think many Hawks fans thought that this Coyote offense was as good as what Utah could throw out but I think the point was proven today. This offense dominated and the pace of the game had the Hawks D worn out as soon as early in the second quarter. When I saw Kai Henry score that first touchdown by grinding out those tough yards helped by the O-Line I am like "UND is f****d today". There is no way the Hawks were going to win this game if USD had success running it at them and especially by running at the heart of their D. The Coyotes were not close to being able to do that last year. That is good sign #1. I think the UND fans did not realize how good Steveler had become since the last game the two teams met. He doesn't make the mistakes he once did. I don't think the UND fans realized how good and athletic our receivers are. I didn't think the Coyotes really even unleashed their full offense because of the success they had on the ground today. The Coyote offense last year showed some real explosiveness against some darn good Valley teams but they would always let the air out of their own tires. Much of that could be explained by the lack of ability to run the ball.
As a fan base I say let's stay humble because the road is still very difficult going forward. We have seen how the mighty mo can be completely in our corner only to do a 180 at the flip of a switch. The good thing is that after the Yotes go to Western Illinois in 2 weeks they come back home for 3 of the next 4 before the season ending gauntlet at UNI, at NDSU and vs SDSU.
The Coyotes shocked the FCS world today. The season to date cannot start much better then it has. The confidence could not be much higher then it is today. It's all about sustaining success now.

The most fun a Dakota Big 3 football team can have is turning UND into a hockey school. USD did just that yesterday.
USD is a good football team. Some might say how can you tell in a game like that. The key? That's what happens when a good team plays a cupcake.
What surprised me was how Innefective their QB gets under pressure. the USD pass rush demonstrated the UND QB gets confused, can't check off. USD containment of their QB was excellent. Downfield coverage was good. Many times pressure caused the QB to run for little gain.
The USD defense shut Down their running game. I'm not sure they really have one. They have a young O Line that was outplayed today leaving it up to their running backs and they couldn't get it done. With only 1 third down conversion it's clear USD was in charge all afternoon.
USD is so smart to have escaped the hell of the BSC. UND is getting outrecruited and outplayed in both Dakotas. Last time in Fargo The Bison let up at 39 points in a rout of the f'n Hawks. This game was always the Jr Bowl to the football extravaganza of the Marker Game because UND did not identify as a Dakota school. They went Hollywood with starry eyes looking west. Now they want back in. Wheather they can recover and be a competitive team in the MVFC remains to be seen. This morning they sure don't look like it. They just ran into a MVFC buzz saw.
At least they still have teh hockies!

UND is a darn good football team and I would prefer to analyse this game as what the Coyotes did right, not what the Hawks did wrong. The Yotes smacked them in the mouth. The Coyotes went out and took this game pure and simple. Lets see what UND does in their first conference game at Montana State. The place the Jacks just barely escaped with their lives. Having USD's opponents do well from here on out will just strengthen the quality of wins.

These things change but right now USD is a good football team. They just rolled the #10 team in the country.
I dont think UND is a good football team. They used to be the #10 team in the country.
As a USD fan I'm excited about the season. Our team is ready for the MVFC.
UND fans are anxious to get back to BSC play. They have a BSC team. To be successful in the MVFC they will have to rebuild.
