I’m pretty sure it was 85 Peguero who caused the fumble. Shouldn’t have ever gotten to that point as they were clearly short on 4th down as he slid the extra half yard but the replay official didn’t have the balls to overturn the call on field. Penalty on Johnson on sideline was almost as horrific as call on Godsey. Far too many penalties that killed our own drives yet we survive and advance. Take a playoff win any way you can get it. And when was the last time, if ever, we won a game in November? We were deep in the playoffs in 2006.

They got crushed by Grand Valley and that was the beginning of the downfall of the Meierkort era. I remember the Northwood game. They did not play well at all but got the win. They let a Northwood team that couldn't pass and chew gum at the same time throw the football all over them.

brought the coyote to the boyou... don't think I'll wear him around the pond outside our hotel though since I spotted at least 3 alligators in it. I'd like to go home with my head still intact!

Give Nicholls credit - they played well today, and had a game plan that was very effective. I would still like to see Streveler take off and run more on 3rd downs, but we don't know the full story on his injuries.
One bright spot - for the first time in several weeks (5 or 6) I don't think we lost anyone to injury during the game, right?

Heck yes! Big win by the Coyotes today. A win is a win in the playoffs, especially on the road. Lots of interesting calls in the second half. They had 0 penalties in the second half I think. I feel bad for Godsey. Not very often anymore do you get to see the long snapper make the tackle, let alone a beautiful play, and he gets kick catch interference? BS. That was a great play. The tv announcers even agreed. Then the personal foul on mike Johnson? What did he do? Who could forget the 4th and 3 from the 4. Holy crap! How in the hell could the review official and ref feel ok staying with the terrible spot? It was plain as day he was stopped short. Probably the best view your going to ever get on a replay for a spot. Then the next play the defense came up huge! That is why you never let up. Did anyone else think after the review of the spot on the previous play stood that somehow they would say this play stood as well? I sure did even though the replay showed otherwise again.
Anyway like I said a win is a win in the playoffs. We need to work on our tackling before next week. We really struggled in that area.

Just a note that I was thinking about a bit. When the Coyotes played UNI and SDSU they didn't play poorly in terms of yards gained. Unfortunately whether a team wins or losses is what carries over to the next week more than anything. It also works to the Coyotes advantage going forward. I thought in general the Coyotes played very average and I think some fortune helped them survive and advance. So it was kind of a mediocre win but what matters is the win and that is what carries over. So the confidence will rise after this game because the team did what it took to win. It wasn't a pretty win but in the post season style points mean nothing. I think we all know that to get by Sam Houston the team will need to play better especially on defense to get a win. Now the Coyotes haven't lost 4 of 5 but have a 1 game winning streak.

Well that was wild! Way to hang in there Coyotes!!! Some spectacular pass receptions and a great job winning the turnover battle and everyone of those plays and many others were needed. I had watched the replay of the Nicholls game with SE La the week before that they lost and this team looked totally different especially on offense. Their offense was very vanilla last week so they added a number of new plays that really helped them--so give them credit! But the Yotes prevail and ADVANCE!! GO YOTES!!!

Let's be honest, that was some really crappy defense we played today. In the end, the D causes a huge turnover at the end to seal the game. Right now it is about Win & Advance but our D is going to need to shore some things up this week in practice. All that matters is the W. Survive & Advance. Pre-game indications were 31-20 after examining the strength of schedule issue. I don't think the Yotes played crappy at all. They were up against a great team. I actually made a downward SOS adjustment of 6 points, from an indicated 26 to 20, to Nicholls! I won't make that mistake again. It turned out to be correct to make no home field adjustment for Nicholls. The Colonels had great individual atheletes as well. Their running backs are good and move around the tacklers so it appears there are a lot of arm tackles etc. They will also try and run through you. Big surprise was how they hung in there for the 2nd half rally. No doubt the Yotes were back on their heels. The officiating seemed to alter the game somewhat in Nicholls favor but the fumble at the end was a Karma-like occurance. Looking at the Nicholls/SHSU game back in September the BearCats put up 619 yds against Nicholls 307. The Bearcats put up 100 yds more in the air than on the ground. All those fans that took Nicholls and the 20 points are satisfied this morning! 11 was enough.

Win is a win. I can't say I was impressed with the overall performance, but plays were made when it mattered most on both sides of the ball.

Is Dagel out for the year or is there a chance he comes back? OL had a tough day (missed blocks, penalties, just generally out of sync), and hope he can get back in there.
