I am obviously a jacks fan but I spend a lot of time on here cause I like to read others view points. But does he actually believe the words that come out of his mouth or does he say things like this just for a reaction? You might have just hit the nail on the head.

RE: moving the USD campus to Sioux Falls.
As I've mentioned before, there was a statewide vote in I believe 1929 (too lazy to look it up again) as to whether to move USD to Sioux Falls. It failed. Case closed.

You might have just hit the nail on the head. Our very own Stephen A Smith. The first name that came to my mind was Skip Bayless but Stephen A Smith works too

RE: the SLT being "unfair"... I think this is no longer a valid argument, at least as it relates to us. Do I agree with the model where they sell multiple-year passes, and allow renewal before the general public has access? Not really.
Do I think that Coyote fans have now had ample opportunities to correct this imbalance? Absolutely. Seats have opened up, our Athletic Department has tried to facilitate this. Every year I am seeing more red throughout the lower bowl. But there is always more blue. At some point it has to become a "want to", and their fans just want to show up more at that specific event. Good for them. It's a great event.
I'd say we are pretty equal in showing up for home games on campus. We still have a ways to go at the SLT. Until we rise to that occasion, there's no point in crying about how unfair things are, IMO.

Thanks to easmus for finding this article: "Kolpack: St. Thomas' D-I move looking promising for a smooth-sailing 10-team Summit League" (LINK)
Read through it if you get a chance. I'll paste the gist of the article here (omitting a lot of fluff in-between): Another year, another two months of fans trying to navigate the Summit League schedule. ...This is old. It’s the Iowa caucus of basketball conference schedules. ... The biggest issue, of course, is the odd number of teams in the league....There is hope, however, in the name of the University of St. Thomas.... it appears the Tommies are on their way to making it work....Look for the normal four-year reclassification from Division II to Division I to hold true for St. Thomas...The final NCAA call on the matter is expected to come in April with the Division I Council. If the Tommies receive good news, they’ll begin play in the Summit League in the fall of 2021. ... If the Augie D-I movement picks up steam again, does the Summit value an even-number league over another member? If so, then the Vikings may be in trouble for conference affiliation.... ... Configuring travel partners is always a good exercise during a winter day with a strong wind. Here’s a guess: NDSU and University of North Dakota; Nebraska-Omaha and Kansas City; South Dakota and South Dakota State; Oral Roberts and Denver; St. Thomas and Western Illinois. ... (NDSU athletic director Matt Larsen) said look for more men’s and women’s doubleheaders next season. The hope is more of a Thursday-Saturday look to the schedule, as much as possible anyway in a nine-team league.
“We all want consistency in dates and times so it’s easier for fans,” Larsen said. “It’s something we’ve talked about in the league and in the athletic directors council. It’s a concern for all of us.”

Even if you put the expansion and Augie debate aside and just look at the scheduling piece of this article, this is great news. Thursday-Saturday. Doubleheaders. Looks like some old NCC-days fans may be talking to their Athletic Departments?....

Would not be a fan of any double headers on weekdays and definitely no go for games against SDSU. In a perfect world, those games should be single events, preferably on the weekend and at opposite sites on different days (men in Vermillion on Saturday/women in Brookings on Sunday) for the simple reason as to maximize revenue. I'm guessing NDSU/UND might feel the same way.

I always disliked double headers, especially on a weekday. That 45 minute break in between games is brutal.

I'm guessing NDSU/UND might feel the same way. If they’re looking to maximize revenue, then they should do them at the same site on separate days. If people travel to Brookings on Saturday, they may stay overnight and not bother to make the drive for the other game on Sunday in Vermilion. But if they’re coming in for the Saturday game in Vermilion, they may stay overnight there and watch the game on Sunday before heading home.

In terms of revenue the problem isn’t with the UXD/XDSU games. Those games will always garner attention from fans in each respective state. But keeping those on Weekends only is important to help maximize it as much as possible. Especially in WBB where USD/SDSU is the Marquee matchup of the league. That game alone is the envy of multiple programs of similar size, maybe even larger, and should not be played during the week. The problem is how do we attract the casual fans to games other than the rivalry ones? Part of it is just simply who we play in the league, we don’t have really a marquee basketball institution that’s a household name across the nation. One fix would be the scheduling and having an even number of teams. But even then other then having a normal schedule I don’t see the games gaining much in attendance.

I doubt it makes any difference whether the weekday games are on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. Having an even number of teams would make it easier to have every weekday game on a consistent day of the week, but do fans actually care? I would be just as likely to attend a game on any of those days, and it takes two seconds for me to look up what day any given game falls on.
Increased attendance will come with either increased level of play, or a league geographically concentrated around I-29 beyond what we already have. I hope for the heightened level of play because there are about zero schools anywhere near I-29 worth inviting or that would even be interested. Build the league into a worthy mid-major conference and people would be more interested.

It shouldn't be this hard. This one is simple and builds in simple logic with rivals:

... Has anybody ever applied to the Summit and been rejected? GCU, according to Herbster. No idea if it was a formal application, but IIRC they voted. This was from statements he made a year ago at the Yankton QB club.
