Last I saw he was 18/22 with a few TD passes and ran one more in on the goal line. Looking outstanding tonight. Winnipeg up 34-7 at halftime.

Streveler played great tonight, passing well and almost hitting the 100 yard mark rushing. The announcers were very lavish in there praise of him too. It was also interesting watching Stephan Logan play. He was in Vermillion way, way past my time at USD and I think about a decade before I moved back so I'd never seen him before. I can imagine that it was a lot of fun watching him in a Coyote uniform when he was here.

Watched the entire game and Streveler got a lot of praise from the announcers. It was really a "beat down" by Winnipeg over Montreal and our former QB definitely led the way. He ran for 98 yards but was the recipient of some hard hits. Very good passing stats in what I think was a 56-10 win.
I don't think the announcers ever mentioned that Logan also played for the Coyotes - was kind of hoping for that. He looked pretty good, too.

Chris had a great game! Was 22/28 246 yds 3 TDs and 10 rushes for 98 yds and a TD! Was named player of the game! The NFL was asleep at the wheel for not giving Strev a good chance--hopefully in the future! Logan had 8 returns for 186, 1 rush for 12 yds and almost had a TD reception. Was the best player for Montreal. Saw him play several games--great speed, moves, etc. Yote all time leading rusher--only Coyote with 4-1000+ yd seasons, longest run of 98 yds, longest pass reception of 90 yds, all-time Coyote rushing leader with 5958 yds (next player has 3427!), All-American 2005 & 2006, etc. Electric player that was really fun to watch! 16 yrs in NFL & CFL!!

Something we've definitely needed to complement our QB play.

Those are some crazy statistics! I didn't realize that he'd been that dominant in college. Four years of that would be outstanding to watch and I wonder if anyone will ever even come close to those stats. He set a remarkably high bar.

We've got the victories over the Gophers in football, MBB and WBB, but the biggest victory of all was taking Streveler off their hands.

Chris was awarded the CFL player of the week honor for his performance in leading Winnipeg to a 56-10 win over Montreal last week.

Chris tried to bring the Bombers back from a 21 pt deficit and scored a rushing TD in the 4th but couldn't cut the deficit any further in a 31 to 17 loss at Hamilton. He was 17/30 for 148 and had 55 rushing on 5 attempts. The Winnipeg D couldn't keep the Hamilton QB in check as he passed for his 8th straight 300+ game. Interestingly the Johnny Manziel is a Hamilton QB but can't beat out their starter. The Hamilton announcers were impressed with his competitiveness, mobility and overall all play in only his 3rd game as a starter.

Winnipeg's starting QB is recovered from his non contact injury of a few weeks ago, so he'll start Winnipeg's game this weekend. Chris will be his backup. It was a great opportunity to show what he can do!

It was a great opportunity to show what he can do! Interesting...quite the quick recovery from what was supposedly a six week time frame. I can't see where he'll do any better than Strev, but then I've never seen him play so it's all just speculation. How do you say quarterback controversy?

Exactly. I'm guessing once Strev put up the production he did this guy decided he better get back on the field or risk not getting back on at all. Still, it's a good situation for Strev to be in from a developmental standpoint. Got some quality starts, knows what it takes to be a starting QB on a professional team, and can now step back and assess. If the starter struggles the coaching staff knows they have a QB that can play waiting in the wings.
