Yeah, I also think this is a great situation for Strev. Remember the old saying "The most popular guy on a football team is the back-up quarterback"? I think it goes something like that, anyway. Despite going 1-2 in his starts, the fans, coaches and players seem to really like him and respect his abilities. I even saw a couple of tweets from Bombers' fans that were pro-Strev after it was announced that the starter was coming back.
Basically the starter has to be perfect, or very good, to prevent people calling for Strev to start again. They gave Strev a pass of sorts for being a rookie. Meanwhile, he can continue to learn the offense and get better.

Chris played even in the first Q. Had a 26yd run to spark an early drive that Q. Ended with 33yds on 5 rushes including two 1yd TDs. Also was 3/5 for 45yds passing so had a good night in Winnipeg's 41-19 win! Chris has 10 TDs in four games passing and rushing!

Chris played sparingly in Winnipeg's last second loss to BC at BC 20-17 after leading 17-0 at half. Chris had 5 rushing attempts for 12 yds in Winnipeg's short yardage package. In the 3rd Q he was stopped for a 1yd gain on 3rd and goal from the 2 to turn the ball over on downs. He had no pass attempts and was sacked once. Winnipeg's QB was intercepted 3 times in the game. Winnipeg played very poorly the 2nd half with penalties, ints, etc after a very good first half and were all very frustrated.

In limited action again Chris was 1/1 for 10yds passing, had a pass rec for 10yds from a wildcat formation and rushed once for 2 yds as Winnipeg handled Toronto
40-14.

Chris played in the 4th Q after Winnipeg starting QB hurt his arm. Chris was 4/5 for 36 yds and 1 rush for 3. The Winnipeg starter was booed when he came back in--he had a fumble for a TD and 1 int vs 2 TDs in the loss 44-21.

Winnipeg's starting QB was pulled after the first half having thrown 3 Ints (2 returned for TDs). Chris came in and was 10/20 for 160 yds with 1 TD & 2 Ints of his own. The Bombers have a bye this week then it is probable that Chris will again be the starter.

FWIW. I didn't have any context for how Christion did, so I looked up last year's article and posted these parts in case someone else's mind works like mine. Good for TC if he can get drafted - isn't the CFL entering some labor issue? Matt Zimmer's article on TC's Pro Day (today)
That could be the case for Christion, too, but the former Missouri Valley Football Conference MVP and all-time passing leader is confident he can be a late-round draft pick. Christion aced virtually every test Friday, hitting 9-11 in the broad jump, 34.5 in the vertical and running a 40-yard dash that at least one scout clocked at under 4.5.
Matt Zimmer's article on Streveler (last year)
Not surprisingly, USD quarterback Chris Streveler was one of the day’s most impressive athletes. He ran a 4.4 40-yard dash, reached 38.5 in the vertical jump, 10-5 in the broad jump, and then threw nothing but bullets in his passing exhibition. The 6-2, 200-pound Missouri Valley Football Conference player of the year is a longshot to get drafted, but demonstrated impressive tools.
