From the KSU Spring prospectus:
the duo of Barnes and Silmon will be the first set of Wildcat running backs ever to enter a season with 1,000 rushing yards in a career.
USD is 0-4 against the Wildcats. The last game 2015 was a 34-0 loss. The best showing was a 1981 31-10 loss. The first matchup was a 1980 24-3 loss.
• Kansas State will be searching for a new place kicker, punter and long snapper as all three from last year – Matthew McCrane, Nick Walsh and Drew Scott – graduated.
They have 100% of offensive line returning.
Not being familar with the Wildcats its difficult to say how good they will be. They have an interesting table showing the percent returning in key statistical areas. Rushing shown 85% returning but receiving 55%. They have only 48% of their scoring returning. They are losing some key offensive players.
The same on defensive with only about 50% of the production returning including tackles, tackles for a loss, sacks and interceptions.
They are a beatable team but it will take a physical team that can return as good as they get along with a great game plan and execution. In a game like this NDSU always comes out with a basic play set designed to show they are not going to be roughed up.
With the loss of receivers a good pass rush from the Yotes will be handy in disrupting the passing game. Those 2 backs have to be contained. The Yotes need to get their game offensively.
Right now if you are debating a friend make sure you get at least 20 points. The game analysis from last season showing USD a 6 point underdog is out of date. I plan on making some adjustments to those estimates if the rain keeps up but I can see the sun now.
