We have emerged from deep under the stands. After hours of work a programming error was repaired. It was equalizing results more than warranted. Predictions that did not fit with a reasonable assessment of reality were the clues to the problem. It is now fixed.
USD @ WEBER STATE WILDCATS PREDICTED WINNER: USD SPREAD: 14 OVER/UNDER: 50 MYTHICAL SCORE: USD 32 WSU 18
Massey seems to be over rating the Wildcats. They have had 2 games. Utah blew them out 41-10 and they played a nice well balanced game against Cal Poly winning 24-17. They seem to be better matched with the bottom half of the FCS than the top.
USD should be able to play with Utah. I expect a game more like the Utah game then the Cal Poly game. The Game Analyzer expects the same thing with the Coyotes 14 point favorites
Particular Wildcat weaknesses:
1) passing. Dont expect 100 yards 2) generous defense. USD could see 500 yds. The QB, Simmons, is turning out to be an eye opener.
A 14 spread is tough to cover, on the other had it is only 2 passes. WSU might have a hard time scoring 18. To get over 50 USD may need to do it themselves. Im not taking a chance on 6 or 7 TDs. I'm taking the under and just for fun picking USD to cover the spread.
There may be regret for taking the under but this game is also a road game. Just like the GAM says, it could easily be something like 35-17 with a "leave early" type of 4th qtr.
PS. nice pod cast with Coach Nelson.

Wow, that would be something. I’m fine with winning but not covering. I’m not greedy.

If this game was at home it would be exactly like the North Dakota game last year and we would crush an overrated team. With it being on the road I'd still say we win by more than a touchdown.

We had them on the ropes with a 20 point lead and didn’t close them out. However, the UNC QB was VERY impressive and the best I’ve seen at this level not named Streveler or Simmons. I can see why he’s the top NFL QB prospect in the FCS. Based on reading the Weber boards, their offensive strength is running with a questionable passing attack. Also, it seems their defense is similar to UNC, strong up front with questions in the secondary. If we slow or stop their rushing attack, we should win.

Agreed, I can't remember where I saw it but UNC's QB was referred to as one of the best FCS QB NFL prospects

I was also extremely impressed with UNC's quarterback. He make some impressive throws into tight windows under some heavy pressure. Wesley, #81, was also really good. I don't know if we'll see a better pitch and catch duo this year, at least I hope not.

I think it will be interesting to see if Allen gets bumped to the bottom of the WR logjam or if he keeps his starting spot after getting ejected last weekend. With a position group that deep you can't get stupid unsportsmanlike penalties, especially 2 in one half.

According to these notes the game will be on one of the KELO sub-stations (if that's the right term). "MyUTV in Sioux Falls and CW in Rapid City" is what it says. So probably available to anyone with over-the-air or Midco in the area. It's also available on their website, or on something called Pluto TV: pluto.tv/tv/big-sky-conferenceQuickly glossing over the depth chart reveals nothing shocking. Armstead isn't listed, he might have been off of last week's too though. I wonder what we will see of Frederick at CB. I'm on the fence with this game. Just don't know enough about this team yet. A win would have my expectations set for playoffs, while a loss would have me searching for ways we might be able to make it to the playoffs. This game is going to be a tough one.

Flashback to Austin Simmons' first completion as a Yote:
In case anyone forgot, this came after Streveler was briefly knocked out of the game. We were down 42-21, in the 4th quarter, and this came on 4th and 4. That's an insane first completion for your career.

Does anyone think the altitude will affect our guys? I know when NFL teams play at mile high they have oxygen available and prepare to play at that altitude. I know Ogden is not mile high in Denver but could it be an issue. Thoughts?

For those of us outside of the Greater Vermillion Area, does anyone know if there are any restrictions or costs to watch the game this weekend on the BigSky Conference network ( PLUTO TV)?
