cyclonefanatic.com/forum/threads/wbb-isu-south-dakota.243669/Some discussion on the Cyclones’ fan board about this game. The Clones are a fan base that follows their WBB team. They pack Hilton Coliseum for their games. Last year we played the season opener in front of 9k + in Ames. Looking at the sold seats map, I’ll guess we get about 3K out for the game. While that may not sound like a big game when the SCSC holds 6K, keep in mind that the WNIT game vs Michigan State drew about that number, and that atmosphere was lit. The TCU game that followed was almost 3900, and again, great atmosphere. Last year’s rivalry game vs the Jacks was 4K, and you’d swear that thing was a sellout.

This is a rarity. We have a nationally ranked basketball team coming to the U tonight to play our gals. Iowa State is ranked 23rd in the country and is off to a great start. We have the ability to beat them which would be good not only for ourselves but the Summit League as well. We need to make our arena a total snake pit tonight. Iowa States coach is a great guy but he’s tough as nails on officials and will try and set the tone from an officiating perspective early and often. Crowd noise needs to be crazy loud.
What a great opportunity we have in front of us. Make the most out of it. GO YOTES

Massey has this game as a tossup. Typical score USD 66, ISU 65. Huge opportunity.

We don't play many ranked teams in general, I see Tennessee last year as being the only one since we played Stanford in the NCAA tourney, let alone have one come to Vermillion. Big opportunity to take down a ranked team with name recognition.

Have to slow down Carleton and it'd be nice to see them come out and knock down some 3s. Get loose early and find a rhythm.

Yotes up 13-9 first Q. All of ISU’s starters are 6’ +. Big size differential! The girls are playing good defense, but are starting to get in foul trouble

It’s raining 3’s! Get that confidence! Sjerven with some nice moves in the paint, too. It’s nice to see that physicality down low.

We’re not forcing turnovers at our normal rate. ISU is showing good ball control

35-18 at half, a point shy of doubling them up. I don't think Iowa State's going to be coming back again after this one.

35-18 at half! Wow. We are absolutely crashing the boards! I love the aggression. I just hope we aren’t in a foul situation at the end.

Who would have guessed a 17 pt halftime lead with all the early foul trouble?
