The ol adage ...” a football team is only as good as their line”! Let’s pray that we are in a better position than it seems🙏🏼 I didn’t realize they converted tight ends in to lineman😳 Was it just for spring or a permanent change? Does anyone know? What tight ends did we have that are possibly big enough to play O-line?? My understanding is that A. Jensen is a permanent move and they had Goehering coming over a great deal but uncertain if it was a permanent move. You also need to take into account that our OL coach told Seck last year that he wouldn't be a player for him, so Seck went to DL for a while, was asked to come back to play OL and is now vying for a starting role? If he hadn't decided to give OL another shot, we would be down yet another OL player. It really sounds like a cluster is going on with this key part of our team.

Our O-line is by far the most concerning position group. I was really hoping to have heard about some incoming transfers by now. Our skill position players have the ability to be great, if our line can do their jobs.

If the players who missed spring ball are healthy we’ll probably be ok, just not much depth. But I concede that I too was hoping we might try to snag one more transfer player, whether it be a grad transfer, FBS, or another juco. Someone with a little maturity in their frame even if they can just provide a year of help for some maturation of our 19 & 20 year olds.

Does anyone know who has transferred in or expected to transfer in either from FBS, JUCO, or grad transfers and where they have come from? Thinking all positions not just OL.

Brady Booker and Sam Gerst are linebackers that transferred from community colleges. Makiya is a running back that transferred from a community college as well. Devon Is the only FBS transfer we have so far and he is a QB from Iowa State.

Cole Ernst, offensive lineman from Iowa Western, is also transferring in.

Thanks for the update. I had also heard that we picked up a JUCO DB and a transfer from the Air Force Academy. They were at the Wednesday conditioning workout. Anyone else know anything about that. From what I saw at the last spring scrimmage we could use some help in the DB world.

Not sure about the Juco DB, but a little research and I found Stephen Hillis LB, Harrington NE. Looks like he signed with Air Force out of HS in 2017 but was never on a roster. My guess is he has all 4 years of eligibility left? www.hudl.com/profile/3073634/Stephen-Hillis

No idea about eligibility - but was told he came down with Type 1 Diabetes which means he can't be in the military and it's taken them this long to let him out. They let him continue school so he has finished two years of school. Shrine Bowl highlights www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXdbl66RDPg

UNC will beat SD in Greeley. No they won't. UNC normally beats USD, so I am going on past history.

UNC normally beats USD, so I am going on past history. USD is 2-0 this decade. One win as a transitioning D2 team, another last year in a very down season. Whatever history you're referring to is irrelevant.
