Would be neat to pass SDSU for highest ranking SL team ever!

20th again in the AP. It's clear a lot of voters are never going to bump us in their ballot. Ridiculous.

This is the first time this year I've been able to find the AP voter's ballots. apnews.com/95cbd29758c4355b131e0397a10c816cMike Carmin (Purdue Reporter) didn't even have South Dakota on his ballot. There is a 15 from Carl Adamaec (Hartford) and three 16's. Youngblood at the Strib had us #22. Tresolini from Philadelphia ranked us #24.

I hope we move up some too but it's not all bad to kinda lie back in the weeds for future opponents to take us a little for granted and have the Lady Yotes prove the pollsters wrong!!

Any predictions on the coaches poll tomorrow? Several of the teams immediately ahead of USD lost games. Certainly possible that the Yotes move up 1 or 2 spots. The quality of losses needs to be taken into consideration as well.

The quality of losses needs to be taken into consideration as well. I had the same prediction for the AP poll, but basically nothing happened. We seriously could be knocking on the door of the top 10 in the coaches poll while being unable to get into the teens in the AP. Simply absurd.

Sports media doesn't actually know anything more about sports than your folks on FOX News or MSNBC do about politics. They're getting a 5-7 seed regardless.
I'm much more concerned with this team firing on all cylinders headed into the NCAA Tournament than I am with anything some guy from Indiana thinks about where they should be ranked.

My pipe dream was that a high ranking might help us get a 4 seed and games in Vermillion, but it seems that hope was not realistic.

If they end up 30-2 with those two losses and both South Carolina and Missouri State win their conference tournaments, I feel like it should have been a very realistic hope. But the high-major bias is very real. Hopefully there are some strong mid-major voices in the committee room who see the Yotes for what they are instead of what the perception might be.

#12 in the Nation. That's a pretty crazy achievement in and of itself.

That's a Summit League first, and should help us get a higher seed, hopefully.
I believe last year's 6-seed for the Jacks was a Summit record. With this poll ranking we could match that, or maybe even get a 5 (crazy talk).
