Some Highlights on YouTube for Avre My untrained eyes see a little Liv in her quick mid-range jumper and her passing. Also some Alison Arens in her hard slash to the basket and scoop-shot. Interesting that all her arc shooting appears to be jumpers. No idea if that's good or bad, but it would seem to me that you sacrifice a little control for power and height on a jump shot. That's why you don't jump on free-throws. A jumper is harder to block, though. So that's good. She seems to have a quick form - catch and shoot. (of course, we only see the makes on highlight reels) Any better observations from our BB guys/gals? Who shoots 3s that aren't jump shots? Every outside shooter at basically every level jumps when they shoot the ball. Well, that's why I asked for better observations.... *shrug* ... I guess her threes are just so quick that it looks different to me. Lots of players need to "square up" and set their feet to get a good outside shot. She seems to just catch-and-shoot so quickly, even on arc shots. Looks different.

More does have arguably the top ‘23 recruit in the state playing tonight in Reese Ross. She’s the most athletically gifted kid STM has ever had. Interesting. None of our coaches follow her on twitter, but lots of other major and mid-major programs do. I can't see any tweets or articles related to her recruiting. Must keep it close to the vest. *edit: you beat me to it. Looks like coaches from Iowa, Nebraska, Creighton, Marquette, DePaul, Colorado etc. are following her, in addition to a bunch of Summit schools (not including USD) No new offer announced, but three of our coaches now finally follow STM's Reese Ross on Twitter. As was said before, she hasn't announced any offers yet that I am aware of, but I would have to assume the offers are there. You can't be that highly touted, and a North Tartan athlete, and a senior, ... without a bunch of D-1 offers.

As somebody I watched the STM-Winner game with said, if Swedlund is going to Kansas to play, Ross should be signing with UConn yesterday.

And I understand bad games happen and it's just one day, nobody really has any idea what all goes into a random winter 32 minutes with high school kids ... but on that night they appeared to be on two completely different levels.

Avree Antony, 5'-10" Combo Guard 2023 Sun Prairie HS; Sun Prairie, WI (Madison Metro area) AAU: Let it Rain Good list of offers www.wissports.net/roster_players/47976082Offers:Butler
Colorado State Green Bay Evansville Illinois State IUPUI Milwaukee Monmouth Oakland Omaha North DakotaSaint LouisSt. Thomas Kansas CityValpo South DakotaInterest from 8 other high majors and 9 other mid-majors, including SDSU. Coach Horn was following her previously, too. Two of our new assistant coaches that were former recruiting coordinators (at St. Lou and Butler) had previously offered her. I think that's the reference to "thanks for believing in me from the start" in her post. She looks to be very athletic already in HS, with some nice moves under the basket (in her highlight clips). Appears she has verballed Colorado State.

Well, looking at the recruiting matrix, we DO already have two "combo guard" commits with Klosterbuer and Keiffer, and a wing/forward in Broughton. And if we want to have any available schollies for the class of 2024, we have to stay one or two under the scholarship limit. Antony looked like a great athlete, but maybe they just decided there wasn't room? Probably not, since the offer from us was recent.
From a basketball perspective USD is the better school, but Fort Collins is a beautiful place. They have more micro-breweries per capita than anywhere else in the USA. And mountains.

Looks like I missed one. Kaliyah is now followed by three of our coaches on Twitter:
Kaliyah Sain, 6'-0" Wing Kennedy HS, Cedar Rapids, IA Team Iowa AAU
Offers: 2019 July - Saint Louis 2019 Sep - Valpo 2022 Mar - North Dakota 2022 May - Lindenwood
has also had some interest from Michigan and Iowa
Looks like she played PG as a 5-10 freshman, but is now considered a wing.

In posting prospects with multiple follows from our coaches, I have often decided to not mention some of them when they have offers from P-5 schools with good WBB programs. Schools like Missouri, for example.
Maybe I shouldn’t do that. I mean, never say never, right?
