jrallstar.com/2020/10/erics-preseason-top-15-mid-major-rankings/1) Gonzaga Having two sets of twins in the Wirth and Truong duos added to the reigning WCC Player of the Year gives the Bulldogs the talent to compete with almost any team in the country including Power Five teams. Until someone shows they are more deserving, Gonzaga will maintain the top spot on this list. 2) Missouri State Coach Amaka enters her second season at the helm of the Bears program. Having Jasmine Franklin, Brice Calip and Abby Hipp to be the staples of their team gives them a strong base to build off of as the srason goes on. 3) South Dakota The Coyotes return a large number of their production this upcoming season. A strong trio of Monica Arens, Chloe Lamb, and Hannah Sjerven will keep the high scoring continuing for their team. This team has the scoring and shooting that could keep them in any game this season. 4) Florida Gulf Coast Gulf Coast has their system in place and seem to be able to slide in new faces and still find success. If they get a waiver to have Ohio State transfer Kierstan Bell play right away, they will have an elite scorer at their disposal. 5) South Dakota State The Jackrabbits return two of their top three scorers from last season. Myah Selland and Toni Nelson are both double-digit scorers and they have their high-powered outside shooting to anchor their offense.

I agree strongly with his top 3 picks. below that, it's a crap-shoot with all the new coaches new players and new teams. ORU is probably too high with the player turnover, but, .... I haven't looks that closely at incoming talent with them. NDSU is plausible at 4 with good coaching, but their talent level still isn't stellar. I think UND will do better than 8th, but not much better. Not much would surprise me below the top 2 teams.

They should be right now - Iowa St. being ranked is a head-scratcher. SDSU plays Gonzaga on Sunday I think - a W there and they are in for sure. Even in Brookings I think Gonzaga likely has an edge in the matchup. (I was impressed with them.) Maybe we want SDSU to win & be ranked? Then if we sweep them in Brookings we are back into at-large territory? That may be our only shot for at-large?

Yeah, I think a win for State is better for us ultimately than the loss for Gonzaga hurts us. Gonzaga will destroy the WCC and stay ranked, anyway. We pretty much want any Summit team to win every non-conference game, since we play each of them twice.

I think state beats Zaga on Sunday because even in an empty arena, Frost is a tough place to win.
I also think USD beats Gonzaga and a slight chance against USC if those were played in the SCSC.
