No game thread set up yet that I can see. Figured I'd get one going this morning.
I don't know too much about UND this year honestly as I haven't watched them play yet. From what I can tell from the box scores, they like to pound the rock and #26 is their bell cow. I was pretty happy with how the Yotes defended the run on Saturday so that should be interesting to watch.
On the offensive side of the ball, we need to establish the run early and often. Get some sustained drives that end in points. We never really had any in Normal. Can't rely on the defense getting us a short field 7 times this week....
From looking at the games both teams have played, I'm gonna give the edge to UND. It doesn't help that we have to travel again. USD sports has really been screwed by the COVID scheduling. On the other hand, we saw the Yotes makes some really big strides throughout the game on Saturday and they say teams make the biggest jump between the first and second games - so we really don't know what their capabilities are to this point.
Should be a fun one. Let's go steal one in Grand Forks then finally kickoff in the dome.

You beat me to starting this thread.
Don't really know much about UND other than we whipped them the last time we played them. Seems they have gotten a bit better since then. My biggest concern is the quick turnaround for a road game on a Thursday night. That is ridiculous.

Really looking forward to this game. I haven’t missed a matchup recently and don’t plan on missing any going forward as I married a Yote. Man that last game we played was so demoralizing for UND. Streveler absolutely ate us up. I hope it goes different on Thursday but either way I cannot wait!

I do worry about the short week. Feels like it could stunt the big strides generally made between the first 2 games coaches say happens. Maybe the short week is better after only 1 game rather than 2? Less bruises on top of bruises? OL has to play better to have a chance to win.

Short week for both teams. No excuses. Take the 6 hour bus ride up tomorrow after practice. Get a good nights sleep and then line up to see whose got the grit and who doesn’t.
No excuses....git er done

Short break and SD on the road twice - that's tough. Who has a successful run game will have a big advantage. Lots of + turnovers for each team so far this season, that's going to be interesting. Two teams where each really want this one. Can't miss this game.

Last time we played in Grand Forks we gave up an embarrassing comeback. I don't care if we paid it back in spades the next year, UND didn't deserve the last win in any way. Repay them handily for that botched game and their inability to play this game on a Saturday.

I don't believe the Coyotes have won in Grand Forks for several years, perhaps as far back as the 1980's but I am not sure. It is gonna take a great effort to win. The short week excuse isn't valid since it is the same for both teams. These players haven't played in a year and a half. I am sure they can handle one short week.

Last 2 times we played up there were embarrassing squandered leads. 2011 was horrible, cost us a Great West title.

Both teams have to deal with the short week but UND hasn't had to travel twice in 5 days. Also the year and a half off doesn't really matter once you're into the season. It takes several days you recover from a game regardless of what point it is in the season.

Like I said, let it be our mantra Even if we don’t get the win, but play competitively, we will be in the hunt. What everyone needs to keep sight of is progression from one year to the next. That’s key

This game reminds me so much of the 2017 match up it’s not even funny.
