Any news on the football front this summer? Are the 2021 recruits on campus or do they hold off until August? I heard USD wasn’t holding summer classes so was curious if kids are coming in this summer.

Also is there any deadline for SRs to advise the school if they'll play another year?

I like this hire. Addressing an area of real concern with a guy that played that position at a high level. I'm a little biased here, but unless you played in the trenches, you have no idea what goes on up front. I've played for and worked with a lot of line coaches, and the guys that have lived it can definitely relate better to their players. X's and O's are great, but there's a lot to be said for the experience of lining up 6 inches across from a 300 pounder whose sole purpose is to kick you ass.
Looking forward to some improvement up front.
Welcome to Vermillion, coach!

FWIW a few more players not listed: Cori Fant, Chase Lopez, Brady Booker, Kadeem Trotter, Cam Seck and Siler Tschirhart. Once again not many seniors (11), juniors (10) or sophomores (16), but a whole boatload of freshmen (42) which I would think is a result of the covid mess. That's not even taking into account the incoming freshman class. Pretty sure my counting is somewhat close to accurate. I'll be curious to see how that freshman logjam works itself out in the future and if other schools are in the same predicament.

At this point we should have players naturally flowing through the system and building an upperclassmen led team. That it is so bottom heavy is disturbing.

I think some of it has to do with the COVID thing, but I completely agree. We are going to be relying on a ton of freshmen to be contributors this fall. I've been saying it for a few months, but we just don't have a lot of talent on this team. In terms of player personnel, we've taken steps backward I'm afraid. Here's to hoping the freshman class(es) are loaded.

Covid has changed a lot. A red shirt freshman is probably a junior academically. We have some listed as sophomores who have graduated so there should be plenty of experience.

It's hard to say if a freshman transferring is a big loss, but, otherwise, I only see a few names that really hurt to lose. It will be interesting to revisit this lost in the fall to see where guys landed.

Wow! that is a ton of Freshman. I hope they give Bob a chance to see these freshmen through. The disparity in classes would be a disaster if they decided to make a coaching change in the next few years. I guess we will see

Like coffeedrinker11 said, you have to add a year to every player's class. For true freshman, just assume that about half are in their second year.
