Our RPI rank just went up from #29 to #17 after beating Kansas City! We will have to see about the NET ranking tomorrow... Charlie Creme, get your sh!t straight. New Bracketology has.... wait for it... Western Illinois as a 14-seed auto-qualifier! dude. Charlie. At least we are listed as a "second four out", meaning we are close to being on the bubble. I'll assume that after another week or two they will start to look at conference record rather than overall record? That would actually make sense, to pick the team that is leading the conference race. Some conferences have not started conference play yet. I guess we will have to see. Not that any of this matters. Just something to talk about. Just keep winning.

I think that is just about right on with the 11 seed. 11/6 is actually a very good spot in a bracket to make a run.

New Mid-major rankings has us at #16, up from #20. SDSU still outside of the rankings.... Meanwhile, we are: #7 mid-major in the NET... #4 mid-major in the RPI...

Thanks, 18! I added Autumn's Bracketology to the first post, and did a bunch of updates (back from vacation). I don't know how often Autumn does a bracketology, but I'll keep an eye on it. Kinda sad that ESPN mails in the bracketology, at least as it relates to mid majors, but at least now there is a competing one from the NCAA. (not that I'm rooting for the NCAA, just rooting for better women's and mid-major basketball coverage in general)

Here are the top mid-majors in the NET right now: rnk | tm | cnf | #16 | Missouri State | MVC | #24 | BYU | WCC | #30 | Gonzaga | WCC | #40 | FGCU | ASUN | #41 | USD | Summit | #44 | Princeton | Ivy | #46 | UNI | MVC | #48 | IUPUI | Horizon |
Oh yeah. And here's a twitter account some folks might be interested in. We are still #16 until they vote again at the end of next week

It is kind of like being between a rock and a hard place. The Coyotes scheduled tough but did lose a few of them. When the Coyotes play the high majors they have struggled this year but when they play the mid majors they have done quite well. It is still hard to know what to consider Creighton. Is the Big East a high or mid major. I consider it a high major but who knows.
I do agree that the Coyotes should be significantly higher in this poll. One thing the Coyotes do is they really take care of business against programs that they are better than. They hardly ever have a bad game against a team they should beat. That is hard to do but they do it.
Ranking the Yotes is a fairly hard thing to do this season.

NET ranking up to #37! That’s well within at-large territory, if we can maintain it.

If the Coyotes keep winning these type games by 20 or more that should bode well. With the Summit it is amazing how good the Coyotes play on a consistent basis. They just don't have an off game and that is credit to the whole program, especially Dawn.

Using the same teams College Insider ranks as top 25 plus RV and re-shuffling them according to NET ranking our Summit League Teams are ranked as follows: 4. South Dakota (#38) underranked -12 13. South Dakota State (#61) underranked -13 20. Kansas City (#86) underranked -21 38. Western Illinois (#168) underranked -1 Seems like the coaches ranking these teams don't think as much of the Summit League this year as in the last couple years. The next College Insider poll should be released tomorrow and maybe it will be closer to the NET ranking this time.

Oklahoma is now ranked in the AP #23, with just one loss to Oregon. I'm sure this is a fluke, though. Since they aren't undefeated, and played USD close, they must be garbage. In other news, South Carolina continues to pull the wool over voters' eyes, staying in the #1 spot with 22 first-place votes, despite being total garbage.... * just in case anyone is totally oblivious and dense, this post is dripping with sarcasm....

I, for one, totally respect both Oklahoma and South Carolina and what they've accomplished, and USD should aspire to their level of play in women's basketball, not to mention other sports as well. Oklahoma has owned us in football too and we're a long way from catching up anytime soon. (right back at you)
