up from #9 to... #8? Seriously.
Cal Baptist isn't even the best team in the WAC. They are barely squeaking by teams in the 200s and 300s. Must help when your HC is one of the voters.
Although the Yotes would probably beat most of the teams on this list right now, our resume puts us probably as a #3 through #5 in the mid-major ranks. The losses in the Paradise Jam hurt the resume just a little. Would love to rematch with Texas A&M or Northwestern right now, but we had our chance. Only thing to do now is just keep rolling right into the dance. Being under-seeded wouldn't be the end of the world if we can pull off the upset.

If we scheduled mid major teams in the non-con we would run them out of the gym for the most part. Our losses hurt but we had the toughest non-con schedule in the country, at any level. I don't think 1 through 7 on this list would want ANY part of playing the coyotes.

Cal Baptist has a NET rank of 112, Columbia is 107 and Stony Brook is 96. There are 25 Mid-Majors with a better Net rank than these 3. This looks like a 'likes' list instead of a 'best' list.

Yawn. There's no hardware to be won from this subjective list. Let's just continue to roll and prepare to prove ourselves in March.

Or don't. If you're the Raiders...

New Bracketology has us staying as a#10-seed, taking on Duke in Bloomington, IN. That would be a good matchup for us, I think.

If we win out and win the tournament I don't think a 7 or 8 seed would be out of the question, but who knows. Maybe. I'd maybe lean more towards n 8-9 seed. Moving up in the rankings (any rankings) isn't as easy when you get to a certain point. You have to keep doing impressive things just to keep treading water. Our NET ranking just dropped 2 spots to #37 after trouncing the Leathernecks by 17 points, even as our "net efficiency" ranking moved up again from #36 to #33. Maybe you were right about needing to take advantage when you can to pour on the points. Doesn't seem right, but... UST might be that opportunity. The Jacks beat the #322 Tommies by 41 points. They moved up in the NET from #49 to #46. They dropped in the RPI from #56 to #60. None of this will matter if we suffer a random upset loss, of course.

After beating the Tommies, RPI is down a little, net efficiency is up a little, and NET holds steady at #37... this is the way.

updates after beating NDSU by 19:
RPI down a little, net eff. up a little, NET up one to #36 (this is the way)
Charlie Creme now has us as a #9 seed taking on DePaul in the Stanford Regional!

We have to remember that it's not just your latest game that effects the change in NET rank, but also how your opponents have done in their last game to effect your SOS part of the formula.
