They are but it’s not in the budget. It would help them immensely if they could raise the funds. To detailed to explain here but it will hurt them on future programs Coach P has throughout the year. Team building, life beyond basketball, etc

Why should the coyotes have to pay twice for the travel assuming they were in Macomb when the postponement was announced. In a correct world you would. That’s not how it works though. I’ll start a campaign if anyones interested in chipping in. $32,000 is cost of charter

I talked to someone close to the program and was informed that if the Coyotes beat Western Illinois that SD would likely win the tiebreaker. Take that with a total grain of salt because I have not heard anyone else speculate on it. Just conveying what I heard.

Since it will come down to a secret formula, the thing to hope for would be what path we would prefer.
Path 1: Denver followed by UND/ORU Path 2: WIU followed by KC/NDSU
I think I would prefer KC in the semis instead of ORU, so the 2 seed may be preferable. I would prefer to skip DU in the first round (Uju could go off), but weird things could happen playing WIU twice in 5 days.

I would never give up a share of the conference title to worry about matchups. The Coyotes and Jacks are so far above everyone else that it shouldn't really matter who they play. There is not team above the rest that would be a significant difference than anyone else. The rest of the Summit is a train wreck.

The only way the secret formula comes into play is there there is a tie for first. In 1-and-done tourneys, match ups are everything.

Kansas City isn't that good but if there was one team that I would not want to play other than the Jacks it would probably be them. I believe they gave both teams the most trouble of any other team. I believe they are a fairly athletic team as well. It doesn't really matter to me. I would rather have the 1 seed if tied with the Jacks.
Does anyone really believe that the Coyotes are going to lose to anyone other than the potential to lose to the Jacks. The Jacks losing to Omaha last year was a total fluke. Omaha wasn't good before and hasn't been good since. Typically Oral Roberts is the team that I would not want to play but they haven't really proven to be much this year. Give me Western Illinois any and every day. Team that don't play lock down D in the Summit League typically don't stand much of a chance again the Coyotes.
I would limit the minutes of the key players and play the risk card a bit in the first two rounds (especially the first round) and save most of the ammo for the Jacks. That is just the way it is in this conference.

How about this for a tie breaker. Have the Coyotes and Jacks play a 5 minute overtime session with winner getting the top seed.

Paige Meyer, the Jacks' freshman starting PG, suffered some kind of knee injury on Saturday early in the game, and did not play the rest of the game. No official word on the severity of the injury, as far as I know. But some have claimed to have heard that the injury was serious. This is not good news for the Jacks (if true), and rather untimely right before the SLT.
From what little I have seen in the Jacks games I have watched (a handful outside of the USD matchups), Paige was indeed an impact player. She created shots for herself and her teammates, and her quickness was a big factor. I think a "Meyer-less" Jacks team is still plenty strong enough to make the finals, but it could also be what tips the tide in the championship game. Who knows?
I would prefer we get them at full strength.

While I’m hoping for an all SD final, and most importantly another USD title, SDSU might have the tougher draw right now. They lost Meyer and while they are still capable of pulling it off easily that is a huge loss for them. Plus UND and ORU are both capable of the upset, and I think a UND/SDSU matchup in the second could be interesting.
But USD also has a challenging side, WIU proved to be a challenge in the first half and KC is well capable of an upset. However in the end I think state has the biggest hurdle. Hoping for their first title in 3 years, overcoming being the first 1 to lose to an 8, and now a key player injury. They’re a skilled team but no doubt that’s a lot of pressure.

Am I wrong or just unbelievably arrogant in thinking that an all-star team from the other eight teams in the league would have a tough time with either of the South Dakota schools?

Am I wrong or just unbelievably arrogant in thinking that an all-star team from the other eight teams in the league would have a tough time with either of the South Dakota schools? You are arrogant, but that's beside the point. (just kidding) ... kinda. I agree. That's what will be so funny about what the all-conference list will probably look like this year. A lot of times, voters just look at stats or how many player of the week picks players got, or make sure that all the teams are represented. But if we are being honest, there are plenty of average stats players for the SD teams that are just better than the stat-stuffers on other teams. Think of it this way - let's say JD Gravina and Misti Cussen are the two team captains for the "Summit League All-star game". They get to pick players for their team in a streetball way, one at a time alternating. The prize is $1,000,000. Who do they pick first? Who gets left out? I guarantee those two teams will NOT look exactly like the "All-conference" team. 100%. Too much politics and "make sure all the teams are represented" with the all-conference voting. If you want to win a million dollars, you choose a bunch of Rabbits and Yotes (and a handful of other players).

Let's try this as an exercise before the all-conference list comes out.
You are putting together an all-star Summit team to compete in a national tournament (for a million dollars LOL). You get to choose 10 players.
1. Sjerven -no other post player in the league comes close. In a class by herself.
2. Selland - she has the size and skill to play 2-5. Athletic, smart, everything. Without the injury she's MVP.
3. Lamb - Also an MVP level player on a team where she doesn't have to always carry the team (but often does). Hard-nosed, clutch player.
4. Meyer - Does everything a true point guard is supposed to do. Surprisingly effective for a Freshman.
5. Korngable - swiss-army-knife guard. on another team she would be a featured player in every game, stuffing stats.
6. Irwin - elite defender, and often great offensively, too. Nice size. Like Liv, she would be a featured stat-stuffing player elsewhere.
7. Ezeudu - probably the second-best true center in the league. (zars 3rd?)
8. Borowicz - elite shooter that can score on all three levels.
9. Alnatas - well-rounded guard that is always a scoring threat.
10. Krull - Like Meyer, a do-everything PG. Probably a worse scorer but a better defender.
