Well, here it is - NDSU's super bowl. We all know that this is the real rivalry - this is probably the biggest event in Fargo in a couple years (since last time Yotes played there).

On a more serious note - what do you think helps the program more to keep recruiting momentum: a playoff win, MVFC title, or a sweep of the xDSUs?
If a playoff win, maybe Camp is on a very short leash today?

If a playoff win, maybe Camp is on a very short leash today? I think one playoff win is meaningful, but we already went and did that 4 years ago and it didn't seem to make much of a difference. Win two or three playoff games and you're going to have people take notice. That being said, there is absolutely no way the coaching staff would put Camp on a leash in a sort of injury risk mitigation effort. You gotta give 100% to every opponent. I'd put winning the MVFC title and sweeping our regional rivals in the same box because it's so hard to get one without the other. We compete with UND, NDSU, sdsu, and UNI for so many of the same kids. Win today and our coaches can tell those kids that we beat all of them this year, and it was done with a very young team. Pretty hard to argue with that proposition. |

AD said in the recent Yotecast they put together a competitive bid. I think we did last time too. Nicholls apparently just goes all out on their bids. UND had to go down there in 2019 as well. I believe they still had tents for visiting locker rooms. |

Camp will get knocked out of the game two or three times with stingers but will return. He’s going to lead this team till he no longer can. Just got word our boys are juiced and ready to go. No fear. Beating NDSU and SDSU will be a great recruiting pitch for local kids that will be a nice feather in our cap, but the closer will be advancing into the playoffs and competing well. These recruits want to know that they at least have a punchers chance of competing for an FCS title. Looking at the other pockets USD recruits from, regional wins mean nothing because NDSU and SDSU aren’t on those kids typically. Nice thing is, none of this has much bite at the end because kids ultimately choose a school because of the relationship with the coaches and player, not who you beat that year!

I would guess today is the first time that 2/3 the the team has stepped inside the Fargo Dome. With all the fresh/sophs that start for this team, I'm really curious to see how they respond in the first couple drives. For now, I will assume an easy-peasy 14-3 lead.
