If you take out the NDSU game and look at the combined opponents records in the easter bunnies wins their opponents are 12-37 and not one of those counter wins was against a team with a winning record and they are 0-3 against ranked opponents. Beating NDSU is really hard but that is the only quality win. the rest of their resume is horrible. Even if they beat UND Saturday the selection committee is looking at a team that only has 1 win against a team with a winning record, was 1-3 against teams with winning records, and the combined record of their D1 opponents in those wins would be 17-43 and that is supposed to scream awesome resume to get ahead of the Yotes when the yotes have the head to head win and much stronger resume even if they get blown out by NDSU. Great analysis. Super job. I’m telling you all the Jacks are over ranked and over hyped. They are a good team. They aren’t world beaters. Neither is NDSU. The door is open tomorrow. I hope we kick it in

So I am assuming the Colorado State games doesn't count as a quality win or maybe the committee will disregard that game all together. Please also don't forget that my comment has been assuming the Jacks beat UND and if the Yotes lose to NDSU.

The Coyotes have been flying under the radar for much of the season, and the 'Hail South Dakota' has only added to the "nice win, but..." syndrome. We're ranked #16, after defeating a #16, #13 and #7. We would likely be 6-1 going into Fargo, a winner take all for the MVFC, minus the targeting of our QB. And in the other loss in the Valley we squandered a 4th quarter lead, on the road. Our stats in the MVFC show that we are a bona fide top tier team.
I'm not writing this for ifs and buts, because it won't matter tomorrow anyway. How the Bison did in Youngstown, nor the Coyotes beating the Jacks, will have anything to do with tomorrow's outcome, much less anything that happened earlier in the season.
The Yotes need to line up and win battles, play by play for 60 minutes. They can, and I think they will, tomorrow and for weeks after tomorrow.
Go Yotes, bring home the title!

When looking at who the coyotes have beaten this year the coyotes have only beaten one team with a winning record and one team that is currently in the top half of their respective conference. I am not saying this to rain on the parade but just to point out observations that the committee may be looking at.

For my prediction I am going with 24-13 NDSU. That does not mean I don't think the Coyotes can win. I give the win probability about a 25 - 30% chance.

The MVFC rep on selection committee is NDSU’s AD.

I don’t view that as a positive for seeding

At least he is from the conference which should help the conference as a whole. Maybe if the Coyotes fight them hard or beat them it will result in either a home game for the Yotes or they will get shipped out of the midwest which IMO would be good.

You really don't get how any of this works. If the Coyotes fight hard they might get a home game? (lol that the guy who demands we not have moral victories seeks one). No...if the Coyotes don't get a seed then they have to bid against another unseeded team for the right to host a game. If we don't host a home game we are getting shipped out of the midwest? Regionalization is king in FCS playoffs. Strong odds we play Montana or Southern Illinois in the first round if we don't get a seed. Definitely won't be Sacred Heart or something.

I do understand how it works if you actually read what I have written. I know good and well if the Coyotes don't get a seed that they will be in an unfair bidding process. What I mean by unfair is that in no way should home field advantage be decided by money but instead by the worthiness of a team. Unless something changed with the process (and maybe it did) the Streveler team played at Nichols. Maybe that is not possible anymore. The bottom line is that if the Coyotes do have to travel it will not be to a top 8 seed in the first round so I think they will have a punchers chance.

www.ncaa.com/news/football/article/2020-01-11/fcs-championship-everything-you-need-knowHere is the link to the FCS Playoff format. What is ironic is that it says in first round games that no team should travel by ground more than 400 miles. Does that mean they can fly? Not really understanding that considering in the 2019 playoffs the following first round matchups occurred. One nice thing is that in first round games teams will not play each other if they have played so that would eliminate playing Missouri State, UNI, UND or SDSU in the first round. Not that UNI or UND would make it but ya never know. Nicholls State at UND SE Louisiana at Villanova UNI at San Diego So that tells me that there is a significant chance that the Coyotes if they don't get seeded could either host or travel to a team that is not in their region. Maybe the Coyotes can draw a school that draws less then 6K per game. Unless the Coyotes get paired with Montana I have a gut feeling that SD will win the bid because the admin will get together and decide it will be worth it to go high but obviously a budget has to be considered. That is just a guess.
