Social media posts today show the jerseys of seniors that will be auctioned off this weekend to raise funds for the Dakota Hospital Foundation in Vermillion. It is notable that in addition to the three known seniors, Avila-Ambrosi's jersey is among them, and in fact she is now listed as a senior on the team roster. Thanks for the head's up! So that makes each class 4 women. Much more balanced. (of course, there are 15 scholarships, not 16). I'll assume we are planning to take in a transfer or two in the off-season, since the 2024 class is just 2 women.

That would be a dream! Both have done very well at their respective P-5 schools, both starters. I guess I could see it happening if they wanted to play a COVID year and their schools wouldn't let them. I think the Yote fans and admin would welcome them back with open arms.... but I don't see that happening.

Krull did not start, but she played several minutes of the game. Watching her defend some of the best talent in basketball while witnessing coach Amy Williams draw up a defense to stop Iowa caused a lot of mixed emotion for me. It was a bit of a self-pity party at times.

We talked to Maddie after the game in Minnesota, and she’s not planning on playing next year. It could always happen, but it doesn’t look like it will. Her body is hurting, and her academics will demand more of her time.

Joy and Addison will be in the 2024 class, so there will be 3 sophomores and so far 4 freshmen.

Wow, medical redshirts can really make for old players, as Joy will have moved classes twice! Guessing she will be working on a Master's degree at some point. I'll wait till the end of the season to move those two into the 2024 class, since they are still technically Freshmen now. But you are right. There might not be room for portal kids unless someone transfers out, or switches to walk-on.

Had to come and check out the roster matrix after hearing some possible player changes that could happen next year. I wanted to see how those would impact us. Anyway got me thinking, if we have some scholarships come open do we hit the portal or do we recruit to our 25’ class and develop for the future. We really need a true point. I’m not a huge transfer portal fan, but I realize there’s a time and place and for the right kind of player. But relying on it year after year just seems to be a band aid and a huge detriment to culture.

Right now we are at 17 kids, with one known walk-on and one unknown (not public) one. If you can't share it, that's fine. As to the portal... It's not ideal, but neither is betting the farm on HS kids that end up not working out. In terms of competitiveness I'd be for bringing in a transfer or two every year for positions of need. Multi-year transfers are ideal rather than grad transfers, I think. Room would have to be made, though. Some tough decisions.

Bring em in and get them to love the name on the front of the jersey. As for what I’ve heard I am going to keep that close to my chest for the time being. With the season still in swing don’t need to add to any potential hearsay.

25 class has point guards I believe and we hope for some height we have a offered a good one but we should know this spring if not then portel makes sense if we need help where needed. I saw 2 girls that we are looking at for the 26 class at the game. Our staff has lots of girls they are looking at according to a coach I talked to but wont say names I think some girls dont want their name out there. More info after high school season is over

As to what I said before, I forgot about Cassidy. She will be a fourth year sophomore. So 4 sophomores and four freshmen at this point, with another freshman offer.
If they are graduating four with scholarships, currently that would cover the new freshmen, Coral, and possibly the other walk-on.
If the other walk-on is a senior, and/or the other freshman offer signs, it gets a bit more complicated. But either way, short of cutting someone or taking away a scholarship, or if someone transfers out, it does not look like there will be room for a new transfer.
I hope Joy and Addison are ready to go next year.
I think while I am at it, what is the name of the girl from Vermillion? What year is she and have we made her an offer?

More info after high school season is over Coaches legally cannot mention any recruit names, and neither can anybody officially from the program, until after they have signed their NLI during their senior year.

I think while I am at it, what is the name of the girl from Vermillion? What year is she and have we made her an offer? If you mean Brooke Jensen, she is a 2025 (Junior) and she held an offer from UND but ended up choosing Augustana, from what I understand. I don't think we offered.
