another update - removed Nat. I have a feeling that all of the recruiting threads are about to be needing massive revisions with different girls being looked at......
maybe I'll not do that today....

On the chart, you have our new signee, Matulevicius, listed at 5’8”. However, according to FIBA, she is 5’11. I thought she looked taller than 5’8 in her social media posts…..

I tend to go by what USD lists when in doubt. In their recent announcement, they are calling her a 5-8 Guard. PrepGirlsHoops also says 5-8, and I usually go by them if there is nothing official from the school yet. Not sure why FIBA was so far off the mark. |

Just asking how this works - so there were a number of girls in upcoming classes who had been given offers. I would call them offers to play at USD, not offers to play for Coach K. BUT, with the coaching change, do all those offers become null and void? Is that why the re-offers are occurring, or is that just to let them know we still want you? Put another way, if someone has not received a re-offer, can that person still accept the prior offer?

I think the simplest answer is yes, they are basically null and void until and unless Eighmey re-offers.

A verbal offer from a coach is basically saying, we want you, if you keep doing what you are doing and as we get closer to signing day we're still here and still want you, you can sign an NLI. Up until the NLI is signed, verbal offers and verbal commitments can be backed out of by anybody on either side.

Good answer. And I would add that the announcements we are seeing on Twitter May or may not represent all the verbal offers or re-offers. Recruits are choosing to announce them or not. I think there is a rule against the coaches and universities commenting about offers. Hence the cryptic tweets from time to time.
We try to give a ballpark picture of who the coaches are talking to, but in the end, we only get a portion of the story. Probably a small portion.
And what we don’t know, I just make some stuff up for clicks.

Well, I just updated the roster and recruiting board based on current verbals and offers, and twitter follows by the current staff for '24, '25 '26 and '27. I haven't done much with the '28... and I don't think our coaches have likely spent much time on 8th grade offers yet, ... plenty of other things to do, I'm sure...
We are still short two scholarship players, so if one of them goes to Coral (I hope), then the staff can either look at the portal, or hold on to the last one.
Personally I'd be looking for a Junior big, but I'm the kind of person where money burns a hole in my pocket, too. Gotta be the right fit, not just filling a roster spot. Also, It would be cool if we could offer a big in the 2025 class to compliment our two guards....

no idea! I tried reading the tea leaves with twitter likes, but I think there are just too many friends and contacts that she has in the industry that also follow her on twitter. Saw Millard North's GBB coach, an international scout from Latvia, The Miles CC (Montana) coach, some AAU coaches, et cetera, et cetera. no idea. Also, still waiting to hear who committed on the VB side! maybe 90 has an idea |

Miles CC leading scorer was a 6-0 Forward, Brae Enboe. Just signed with Dickinson State.
