USD has made a very honorable offer for free football tickets to our veterans for a ceremony remembering September 11th. It is a very respectable thing to do. However, why did they roll this idea out three days before the game? This should have been coordinated a month ago. It is also concerning for attendance purposes that they have 600 free tickets to give out just three days before the game. www.keloland.com/NewsDetail6162.cfm?Id=120488The number in the release is 300 free tickets to veterans.

Looking forward to this game. I do like our chances in this one, but for some reason it just feels like a trap game coming off that emotional game with UW and the following week in Missoula. I hope our team will have a focused week of practice and take this game very seriously, because we need to do everything we can to get to 1-1. With as difficult as the Big Sky schedule is going to be this season, I think the USD game is pretty much a must-win for us.

Nothing in the Thursday Argus Leader on the game. Very disappointing! You would think having the #1 FCS team coming to SD would give them enough interesting material for a few blogs from Mick and an article or two. Guess not.
T.V .does a great job (allowed by the AL to dedicate enough time) in his coverage of the Jacks. The resources given to Coyote FB is lacking.

Prediction:
Ok, not really a score prediction but I will say that I think EWU is the best team to ever come play at the Dome. That said, I believe that the Coyotes have the size, speed, talent, and finally now, the depth to compete with them toe to toe. If the Yotes come out and play a high octane, mistake free, 60 minute football game, in the Dome there is not an FCS team in the country they cannot beat. If they come out and play a "Lamar" type game it will be over by halftime and we will feel embarrassed and it would ruin the whole season. It's at home and the Yotes have a tendancy to show up and play well at the Dome, even in some recent home losses, UND, UC-Davis, and UNI the games went right down to the end.

Agree with Yote 53 - very likely will go either way he spells out.
This is a team whose time has come to step forward. They have the talent and depth- strong and fast at every position. I really believe they have the depth to play 4 quarters with any team at the FCS level - the downfall last year was how they finished games for sure.
My best guess is that EWU is walking into a buzz saw this week. The SD defense will carry the day and get 3 turnovers minimum. If Dante makes good decisions with the ball and doesn't try to win the game with each throw - I think the offense will have a lot of success as well.

T.V .does a great job (allowed by the AL to dedicate enough time) in his coverage of the Jacks. The resources given to Coyote FB is lacking. However, the game is getting some press from both the Sioux City Journal with the attached article about EWU's potent air attack, led by Bo Levi Mitchell - www.siouxcityjournal.com/sports/football/college/usd/article_54396a1d-1e2d-5950-8878-58fb84fd584e.htmlAlso this article from the Yankton Press & Dakotan about ticket sales suggesting a possible sell out for the game - www.yankton.net/articles/2011/09/08/sports/doc4e68315c3119b820786635.txtLast year, the Yotes normally placed ads in a lot of the daily papers in the area promoting the game - haven't seen anything yet for this game.

I'll freely admit I don't know much about this Coyote team other than what I saw against Air Force. To me, it looked like the Falcons O line routinely gave their RBs and QB room to run up the middle. Out of the option, the Coyotes couldn't contain either. On offense, Warren seemed to be running for his life a lot, and it looks like he can be pressured into making mistakes. But to say the Eagles should roll in this game is foolish. Predicting victory over an opponent you know little about is the kiss of death. However, the Eagles have the most potent offensive attack I've seen in the Big Sky in a very long time. Mitchell, Kaufman, Edwards, and Herd can chew up huge yardage in the blink of an eye. Mario Brown, Beaumonte, and Bronson have the size and speed to keep defenses guessing. On defense, Renard Williams is a handful for any team, FBS or FCS. Our corners thankfully seem more than capable with Gibbs and Lee being surprisingly effective at DB. I hope the Eagles come out and punish the Coyotes for four straight quarters, but I know your team will welcome the challenge and play to its strengths. This is going to be a good one.

Anyone on here that has Midco I have a quick question - I was looking on the schedule for Saturday and Midco is showing the UND v Idaho game at 4PM and is listing the USD v EWU game at noon. It was my understanding that the USD game is at 4 PM? What am I missing here?

That game was a bad one. We lost TJ quite suddenly, and at that point in the season that was pretty much our one dimensional offense. MSU was the better team that day, but i'm not convinced they were the better team that season. Unfortunately they lost to NDSU in the playoffs, most eastern fans were hoping for a rematch so we wouldn't have to hear about it anymore.
