I am happy with the hire and am excited about the future. My only concern is that, considering her age, how long it’ll be before we have to repeat this process.

I could only hope that the success continues that the Yotes have to ponder that.

I agree with what others have said about this being different from a typical first time head coaching gig, because of how she knows some of the players already and mentored under coach P. That, however, doesn't make this somewhat of a gamble (one that I think we're positioned well to make). She appears to be a rising star in the WBB coaching field, and DH is betting that she will catch on quickly and that we will be part of her rise for a while. Her age will be more of a detterant to P5 schools, so I think if she does well here, it won't be a quick stop. Either way, she has my support for now!

I'd much rather have a revolving door of excellent coaches that P5 schools want to hire than somebody on the tail end of the career. Nobody was happy to see Amy go, but Dawn elevated the program well beyond the level she inherited. I'm fine with repeating that process every few years.

I love Coach K's energy and positivity. You can tell she is genuinely over the moon to be the new coach of the Coyotes and that is exactly what we want. A young, hungry, coach that builds relationships and that the players are drawn to as well as future recruits. I feel like we hired a good one and I'm extremely excited to see what Kayla can build here. I prefer coaches with ambition that we have to replace every few years after we experience incredible success. Especially continuing the kind of success we have seen as of late that relegates the team to the north to the second best women's BB team in SD.

I have a bunny friend that always said the only reason we won at home years ago was that we played in the cavournous Dakota Dome that intimidated visiting teams! He's had to change his tune since we win even more in the SCSC!! Goes to show that bunny fans are a different breed of cat!! Lots of moving goal posts with that bunch.

Had they beaten Omaha and whatever other second tier team they would have faced in round 2 they would have played us on a neutral court rather than in Brookings like every other contest between the two schools that season. However, they lost to #8 seeded Omaha so that neutral court rematch never happened. Clear?

Good presser, but short. Coach K didn’t field questions, but did private interviews afterwards. Guess we might have to wait a little for those interviews to come out. Maybe they didn’t want to have her answer questions about Kyah and Maddie in that press conference atmosphere?

That definitely would have put her in a tough situation and she likely doesn't have those answers quite yet anyway. Hopefully we hear some news on their intentions this week.

I heard from somebody in Rapid that Watson was taking a visit to Morgantown. That could be hometown hogwash or totally accurate ... I have no idea.

Well, West Virginia is the main one recruiting her, so I could see that being true. Hopefully Coach K can talk her into staying. Watson is a huge asset to this team.
