This seems like a perfectly timed trip.

The extra practices are golden!
...and I'm sure the trip will be fun too.

This is the trip they were supposed to go on two years ago.

Just doing a thread bump. I know the seasons off a bit still but seeing SDSU announce some games I was wondering if anyone has heard of any non-con games for the upcoming season.

I’d bet the coaching change following the long postseason might’ve made scheduling a little more difficult.

I’d bet the coaching change following the long postseason might’ve made scheduling a little more difficult. Oh most definitely. I imagine a much different non-con compared to years past, and that’s okay. As long as it prepares us for the ultimate goal in March. I know the season is still a few months away still but I’m just so curious and excited to see this next era. My expectations are pretty tempered, but we still have a ton of talent so I’m predicting a top 3 finish.

The conference gets more watered-down each year with all the transfer losses. I think a SLT championship appearance and good WNIT showing would be a successful season, but “More is Possible” (saw that slogan on their shooting shirts, or practice shirts this year)

As I type this the girls are flying over Greenland on their way to Athens. 2 hour delay out of Chicago but I’m sure we’ll worth it. They are scheduled to land around 1 am our time. Left Vermillion at 3:30 am this morning. Long long day. Character builder

Little off topic here but I really enjoy that Creighton is willing to schedule the regional schools. I also am curious, going forward now that we’re away from the Williams era and a coach in between do you think Amy is willing to schedule the Yotes? I get why she hasn’t in the past but it seems like a missed opportunity for the two schools to add a close non-con game that I think would be a good resume builder.

My opinion here, so may not be worth anything. If I was Amy, I'd purposely avoid scheduling the Yotes. What does she have to gain from that matchup? The Yotes don't get the respect they deserve from any of the committees in terms of talent and strength of schedule just based on the size of the market we're in and playing in the SL. Beating the Yotes wouldn't bolster their at large or seeding resume near as much as it should. But the bigger thing is, I don't think they'd beat us.....

With Maddie Krull now on the Nebraska roster, I think Amy waits a couple years longer before even thinking about it.
Nebraska is playing Omaha this year.

Nebraska definitely has nothing to gain in playing USD (whether Amy is in charge or not). We compete for some of the same recruits, and Nebraska is going to look silly when they lose to lowly USD. We have had the better team probably every single year since Amy went there, and likely some years before that too.
I think Creighton fits in that boat too. I really thought they'd stop scheduling us by now, and definitely wouldn't be making so many trips across the border. We have beaten them 6 times in a row - all coming in the last 7 years and while Creighton has been at the top of their game. I don't pay much attention to recruiting battles but I bet that we have beaten them for some recruits even though we shouldn't even be in the same conversation as Creighton.
