Yup. I may have some time to do a preseason write-up on all the teams. We'll see how my work schedule affects that...
Way too many transfers to know what teams will be contenders, outside of SDSU and USD.
My off-the-cuff comment is that I think WIU will be better than 7th. I don't care how much talent or lack of talent Gravina has in this moment. He just gets the most out of his players. I'm not saying they will be a title contender, but I could see them finishing a little higher than 7th. maybe 4th or 5th.
I think the all-conference players (outside of a few on the Jacks) are completely unknown at this point. We should have at least two from the Yotes, probably three. I couldn't say who, though. Just depends who emerges. Same with pretty much all the other teams. Borowitcz and Hamling are probably good guesses though.

Another reason to not be concerned about getting an at-large bid this year: the conference as a whole will be down. Most of the best performers (statistically) from most of the conference have left, outside of the Jacks and Borowicz/ Hamling/ Larkins.
Even if some of the returners and transfers-in will eventually be rock-stars, most of these teams will spend the non-conference "figuring things out", which doesn't bode well for our collective RPI/NET prospects.
If you are the Jacks this year, that is a double-edged sword. The conference should be a bit easier to dominate, but the NCAA seeding might suffer a little from the Summit SOS. But then again, "net efficiency" might keep them buoyed.
Watching this team evolve and having players emerge will be fun. I do think that by the second half of the season we will be firing on all cylinders, and challenging for another title. This time in the hunter role instead of the hunted. Let's go!

Good point! plus, The WNIT is "cool" again, now that the Jacks won it. No shame in being #65 anymore.
