No, she played. It was the beginning of the injury problems that plagued the elder Duffy for a good chunk of that season and eventually ended her career, though. My bad, I usually try to look stuff up before spouting off... Looks like Seekamp missed just the first two games that season, Utah and Northern Iowa (both losses). She had to forfeit those games as part of the NCAA reinstating her eligibility for her fourth year. Washington was the 10th game. Looks like Washington finished the 2021/22 season with the lowest NET score in the Pac-12 (#94). The finished last in the conference at 2-12. They had a first year head coach in Tina Langley (previously at Rice). I probably wouldn't sleep on them, though. At Rice, Langley took a moribund program to 3x CUSA champs in just six years as a first-time HC. Also, Washington won the WNIT last year, another interesting parallel with 2016 USD. A P-5 team is always great for the schedule, if it turns out that we do play them... I hope that's the case.

We do not play Washington, as I have seen their nonconference schedule even though it’s not posted on their website. It was on social media. From what I can see, there are two tournaments in Vegas over the same days. One of them has 8 teams, and the other one appears to have 4. That is the one we are in. We very likely play Santa Clara, but there is not enough information to say that for sure. I have an online friend who scours the Internet and puts together a massive grid-style spreadsheet, listing every single team and their non-conference schedules. That’s where I have been getting my information from…

I checked South Pointe's Thanksgiving scedule this morning and USD isn't one of the teams listed.

It is not the Southpoint tournament. It is another one in Vegas over the same days. On the Fordham and UW schedules, it says “Las Vegas Holiday Classic”. And it looks like it will be on FloHoops.

Great! Thanks for the clarification! We went to the last one in Vegas at SP and had a blast! Lady Yotes beat Ohio State and Northern Illinois and played great!

It certainly won't be boosting any strength of schedule ratings but I think it's a good slate for a team that will be feeling some things out.

This isn't a "let's try to get an at-large bid" year. I do think we will still finish in the top 2 or 3, and maybe even have a chance at a tournament title. But they need to figure out their identity, scheme and roster stuff first. Not a small task. They have talent, though. Will be fun to see the development from day 1 to the SLT. It's good to keep the non-con regulars on the schedule, though. Drake and Creighton have been fun rivalries. Creighton is going to be very good this year.

Not many marquee games as expected given the new coaching staff, but creighton and drake are always fun ones. Kind of surprised not to see Green Bay on the schedule though. I don’t think we’ve played them for a couple seasons but they’re usually a good regional mid major.
Creighton will be a good indicator of how the team and new coaching staff is doing. However a matchup maybe mid way through non-con or towards the end would tell us more to determine how we stack up against them.
I will admit now that the non-con schedule is released im very excited for the season and the new era but I’m also a little nervous. I think Kayla will do a great job but being a new HC at a program coming off of its peak is going to be a tough task, one that I know she’ll be up for though. I hope her assistants are up for that task and I hope fans are prepared for a few bumps in the road.

Didn’t know exactly where to put this, but it looks like Aspen has landed at D2 Central Oklahoma. I wish her well, and I think this will be a good move for her. Give her a chance to shine. Good luck Aspen!

She’s a good player and a good person who’s been dealt a lot of rough hands in life.

Also pre-season polls are out. Top two are how i expected, but honestly anything from 3 down is a crap shoot in my opinion. There’s too many unknowns this season for the league.
