Bob, while being the reigning coach of the year, was a safe option. His results at WIU weren’t that impressive. But my point is there are fans who want us to give him another 2-3 years. That is playing it safe with mediocrity. We all should be demanding a change, wether it’s keep Bob and revamp the assistants to bring in some new blood or it’s an entire overhaul. Now is the time though, especially with another future powerhouse in the region on the rise in St Thomas who (granted they play in the pioneer league) are ranked #25 and have found success in year 2 of D1. It won’t be long until they’re sought after by The Valley and we need to establish some consistency before they are. Agreed that keeping what we have right now would be settling for mediocrity. Bob seemed like a homerun hire, but after being given 7 years and full support from the AD we should be miles ahead of where things are right now. The OC situation surely threw the season off course, but it's clear now that problems lie deeper than that. I can't envision a scenario where Bob should return. Not unless we can't afford the buyout, which would be a very unfortunate indication of the program if we can't afford to buyout 1 year of a contract.

For some reason I'm not able to change my vote (glitch or because I started the thread). Judging on the shift in votes, I am thinking the rest of you are able to. Let me know if that's not the case...
After YSU this poll is shifting to the "fire bob" side a little more. Not surprising, but interesting. I'll keep this open until the regular season is over.

An argument could be made that with potential loss of season ticket renewals, general ticket sales, Howling Pack donations and the like that we can't afford to not buy him out.

There's something to be said for this! People don't want to watch a team come out and get thumped every week.

I hope the football players, coaches, staff and Most Fans have a LOT better attitude about the rest of the season than some posters on this board!!!

I hope the football players, coaches, staff and Most Fans have a LOT better attitude about the rest of the season than some posters on this board!!! I'm more engaged and optimistic than 99% of potential fans. I've attended every home game of multiple winless MVFC seasons. If I can't care about future games under Bob then how would less invested fans find a way?

I hope the football players, coaches, staff and Most Fans have a LOT better attitude about the rest of the season than some posters on this board!!! We’re allowed to be critical of this team. Are there good players? Hell yes! Are there glimpses of greatness? Yessir! But what’s there to be happy about? This is ANOTHER lost season because Bob “needs more time”. I’d say my attitude is a pretty prominent one across the fan base, what’s left of it anyway:

Don't get me wrong. I'll not for the status quo I'm just saying there are 3 games left and the TEAM deserves our support! It's not like they're not trying.
So if Bob was gone tonight and an interim coach was appointed to finish the season would everyone be excited--oh maybe until another game was lost.
I say finish the season with existing personnel then decisions need to be made but with 3 games left now is not the time!

You have to click on your current vote first to deselect it then revote. I have other conflicting stuff going on for the last two home games I was just going to skip so I could see the Coyotes. Not anymore. I'll skip tailgating and be late to the game instead. Season tickets for the last 20+ years, seriously reconsidering that for next season. I'll probably get tickets, just out of habit and the prospects of a new season. But man, right now is about the lowest I've felt about Coyote football. Joe's teams were bad. I could somewhat rationalize and expected the loses. This team though, I had expectations. They've been given every resource and still these are the results. The renovated Dome is going to feel like a massive empty tomb by the time we play UNI.

Keep your enemies close and your friends (supporters) closer it seems. No matter the circumstance nor the outcome, support the team and the program. Yes, it has been a very tough year to stomach up until this point. Nightmare schedule, drunk offensive coordinator who devastated this team’s trust and put the staff in a very tough spot with no one prepared to take over that position, a QB that took 3-5 steps backwards after last year, an OL that has been very porous at times, and a defense that forgot how to play coverage or tackle in 1 game this year.
Challenging absolutely!! But it’s not like the players are shitty or not out there competing. And I’m pretty sure they aren’t being taught to cut routes loose or miss tackles. Our job is to support and cheer them on just like we were when we played (sometimes not so well). Should we have certain expectations, YES, but it’s not our position to hire or fire coaches.

I did a little math, the Yotes have been out scored 222 to 126 this season! Doesnt look good on either side of the line. He needs to go at end of the season.

I agree with you whole heartedly. There is a limit though on how many times I'm willing to get kicked in the nutts. Starts to hurt after a while!

I have a problem with "it's our job" thing. It's not my job to support the team. It's actually the opposite of my job. I spend more time and money than I care to admit supporting the program, well the whole athletic department I guess, and haven't gotten much in return unfortunately. I do it because I want to, not out of some job-like obligation. My "want to" is running thin as of late and I think a lot of the fan base feels the same way.
