She cant enter the portal as you can only do it once. She can apply for a transfer because of a coaching change or she would have to set out a year. I cant believe she would stay Good point. She could only enter as a graduate transfer at this point (but obviously that would require her to have graduated). She could try to get a waiver, but they have tightened that process to make it more difficult to do that. A coaching change alone probably isn't enough. She's in a tough spot. |

She might stay if coach P is not interested in helping her get to Minnesota I think she has 2 years left

I was just thinking why does everyone assume Kyah is unhappy at West Virginia. Looking on the outside she is a starter playing major minutes at a power 5 school who was good enough to make the NCAA tournament. She probably flies charter to all road games, maybe an NIL deal, and also training table for most meals. I have no idea of her happiness but the fact she has not transferred yet may be an indication she is doing great. I surely wish her the very best and hope she decides what is best for her own future. Who knows??

She can definitely enter the transfer portal. She would not receive immediate eligibility though, because she already got that one time. She could potentially apply for a waiver if she had cause. But you can enter the transfer portal multiple times. There are players in the portal who have transferred two or more times already….

Not probably a target for the Yotes, but there are a number of players transferring out of Ames, IA, including star guard Lexi Donarski. A Des Moines Register article with one of them pointed to a shift in offensive philosophy next year that is turning off some of the existing players. They currently run a half-court offense that still scores a lot from the arc. Fennelly wants to go to a high-pace offense instead. Being that Donarski is from Lacrosse, WI I wonder if Coach P is recruiting her? She is an elite-level defensive player.
Food for thought on fast-paced systems: they aren't for everyone.

Also on Watson: There are 3 WVU players in the portal, and they just named a new HC yesterday, Mark Kellogg from SFA. A lot could still happen there. Stay tuned. She could have a few of her new friends moving on. Not ideal in terms of stability IMHO.

That alone is pretty impressive. Interesting they seem to be looking at point guards right now... She was a four-year starter in HS, and a good track athlete, too.
from her Idaho bio:
Speed and athleticism translates pretty well in BB, especially for smaller players.
In her freshman year at Idaho:
-started 18 of 24 games
-averaged 27 Min, 9.2 points, 2.8 Reb, 3.2 Asst
-shooting efficiency: 42%FG 30%3P, 80%FT

She's also a high-academics kid, so I wouldn't be too surprised if she already had her masters done (Biomedical Engineering major). |
