I think you can have 15 active players, Mason will be one player to sit the year out. I think Jewett would be on . So 2 scholarship players will set of course injuries play a part. We want to do this to a future good player so they don't waste a year on the bench. I remember when Staney wasted his freshman year not playing . its a good problem to have. I like our 2 portal players this year Oh, I see what you mean. Yeah, I hope they make smart decisions regarding redshirts. Probably better to go through summer workouts and see what you have first. Hopefully we don't get more injuries over the Summer, but it does happen. I don't think the whole "active player" thing is that big of an issue, because your active players can change from game to game. You just can't play more than 15 different players in a given game. That's my understanding, anyway. So even with 18 on the roster (I think it will be 17 though), there could be plenty of garbage time minutes for freshmen and walkons to get some playing time, as long as they aren't redshirting. Who knows? they might not redshirt anyone. It isn't a given.

We had 16 the year we had two walk-ons (Terronez, Schoenbeck), and I think there were games we played 16. Can't recall. There is a 15-player limit on scholarships.
