Defense has zero desire to tackle anyone and offense is doing next to nothing. Pretty uninspiring performance for a team that thinks it is playoff caliber. I knew we wouldn't win, but I didn't think it would be a boat race.

After one half I would say I'm disappointed, but not discouraged. I think we should have a much closer game. Offensive play calls were questionable, couple painful mistakes on defense, and the refs missed some critical calls to pile on. I don't see where we are just glaringly lost though. Not when you consider the competition. If we have a game like this again this season then I'll be jumping on the doom bandwagon. Tonight it's just unfortunate.

I have said many times that we needed a change after last season, but it's not a productive statement in the middle of game 1 against an SEC opponent. We have a whole season and every opportunity ahead of us. If this game is going to make you melt down then I don't even understand why you are watching. |

Take the $650k and learn from the mistakes. OL is going to be an issue all season, in my opinion.

I thought we looked okay outside of our pathetic running game. Missouri manhandled us on the line of scrimmage, but that was to be expected.They will have a stout rush defense this season. Bouman was efficient and smart with the ball. He will carve some teams up this year. Martens and Bell looked very quick. Nobody stood out as a third receiver. One long TD drive would have been nice, but oh well.
On defense, the linebackers did okay despite the d-line being shoved in their face all game long, and the defensive backs battled well against the most talented receiving unit they will face all year. Cook facing zero pressure did nothing to assist them. Harden forced his typical turnover.
All in all, we competed hard, got better, avoided major injuries, beat the spread, and collected a check. Not bad.

I'm not discouraged. Obviously things could have gone better but considering a whole new offense, holding an SEC O scoreless in the 2nd half until the last 1:40, many "pundits" thought Yotes would be shut out and give up a lot more points...
Learn and clean up some things and move on. Go Yotes!!

Announcers were very complimentary of Harden and the Tigers coaching staff respected his talent. Very few balls thrown his way
