They just beat Black Hills State by 10 at home. By all accounts this should be an ass kicking. Contrary to some posters, I'm actually feeling better about the Yotes after the Mizzou game. Let's get in the win column.

BHSU put up more yards than St Thomas. I'm going to be real discouraged if we don't completely handle St Thomas. I'm sure we will still be working some things out on offense under a new coordinator, but still this shouldn't be a close game at all.

The next two games are very important for the growth and advancement of this program. Get two sound wins then put on the gloves for our trip to Fargo. I’m pleased overall with Missouri game. Play the balance of the season with same energy we did down there and we’re fine.
I really would love to see the dome be filled Saturday but I don’t feel the energy. I hope I’m wrong. This team has a good chance to vastly improve from 2022.

I think we are better than last year, but the schedule is so much easier that it won't really be a good measuring stick for the program as a whole.

There is only one home opener every season, only one time for all to get things off to a good start; not only the team and coaching staff, but also the ticketing and promotion staff, game day operations, band, student section and all other fans.
Let's all do our part. Get there plenty early to enjoy all the pregame and tailgate activities. Make sure you in your seats before the opening kickoff and the second half kickoff. (Tailgating is fun, but a full and loud DakotaDome is even more fun). Bring a long a fan or two or ten.

I’ll be there. If the game isn’t effectively over by half time, I’ll be disappointed. If we want to move up in the FCS hierarchy, these are the teams we need to easily dispose of.

Compared to last season this year's schedule is easier, but it's all relative. Last year's was ridiculously tough so one could argue that it wasn't a good measuring stick either. If you check out other MVFC team schedules, ours falls in line in degree of difficulty with other league teams, and some teams, who we'll be competing with for a playoff berth, have what might be considered easier ones than we do. There is simply no reason to face a gauntlet like we were put in last season.

Interesting to see that the top 21 toughest schedules were all teams from either the Big Sky or MVFC. According to Hero, Illinois State at 44 has the easiest by far from the MVFC. After checking it out, I can see why; their OCC is a joke.

Per this article on the St Thomas website, the first collegiate game played in the DakotaDome was the Coyotes hosting the Tommies on September 8, 1979. (44 years and 1 day prior to this weeks game) The Yotes won 22-6. Kind of cool

I'm concerned by the lack of interest in this game and am expecting a light crowd, unfortunately. I've talked to several season ticket holders that are either not going or have extra seats they're trying to give away. Come on Yotes, it's the first home game.
