Can anyone confirm the 2024 game at Wisconsin is no longer because of the new Big Ten teams coming in next year?

Wouldn’t shock me, sure hope not. Was looking forward to that trip.

I guess I don't see why it would be impacted. It was still on as previously scheduled after they made up schedules with USC and UCLA in the conference. Now they have to redo those schedules with Oregon and Washington, but I don't see why it would change the non-conference.

The 2024 game at Camp Randall is still on per this schedule released yesterday by the Badgers as the Big Ten Fourteen, Sixteen, Eighteen also released their football schedule for the next 5 years yesterday.

You better believe I'll be at that game. Unless they do something dumb like flex it to a weekday.

The 2024 Schedule has been updated to replace the September 14 game at Lamar with a game at Portland State. (The game at Lamar was moved to 2025). Appears still trying to find a home game for August 31.

Must be one of those uncommon 12 game schedules then.

Why on Thurs? ESPN national game?

That's pretty disappointing. D2 team on a Thursday night. I probably won't go. Maybe if it's like a 5PM kickoff I will be able to justify ducking out of work a couple hours early and making the trip to Vermillion. I don't make any of the Thursday basketball games because I hate getting home at 10 when I have to work in the morning.
If it were a D1 opponent then I'd make it work no matter what. Games against lower division opponents are things I usually ignore entirely. Even a road game at a bottom-to-middling FCS team would have been better in my eyes (for making a playoff resume). This is an exhibition as far as the playoff committee is concerned.

Why on Thurs? ESPN national game? Afraid of the Northern State fans being able to attend.

Just a note that Montana and sdsu both had a D2 opponent this year. Seemed to work out ok for them. Not like fcs teams outside the big sky are lining up to play us.

If we expect teams like Wisconsin, Missouri, K State, Oklahoma to schedule the Yotes, we should certainly be willing to schedule a D2 team, especially in a 12 game season and a local team at that.
