Where are the Coyote fans? Attendance is terrible and the people on the west side sit there like a bump on a log. Terrible.

My take on this game I feel is different than most on here. Giving up a big lead can be frustrating but YSU also has schlorship players and they aren’t a bad team. But every break on earth went the Penguins way. Every close call went their way. We recover a fumble then fumble it back. Galbreath makes a big catch then fumbles it after a big gain. We drop a 85 yard pick six opportunity with a dropped gimme. We hit their QB as he releases the ball and somehow we didn’t get the interception and their receiver makes the catch.
Go back and watch the game closely and count how many holding penalties that were never called. Refs miss calls but today took the cake. We have #8 literally have his arm pulled down as the pass is being delivered….no call. Their QB ( who is very good ) ran for his life and the linemen literally pulled our D line guys as they closed in.
Every break went against us against a pretty good team yet we found a way to win. As fightsd said, 8 out of 10 times we maintain a big margin. We were fortunate to win but not lucky. Big difference.
And where some of you are criticizing Coach Nielsen for not going for it on 4th and 2 with 2:25 to go, think about the rationale. IF we don’t make it that creates even more negative energy. Then YSU has to go only about 30 yards before they’re in field goal range. However by punting it makes them travel a further distance. If they throw an incompletion or two, or don’t make a 1st down we have 2 timeouts to stop the clock and hope for a shanked punt or get the ball in field position where a completed pass or two puts us in position for a potential winning field goal.
I honestly don’t think there was a clear cut decision to make. But at minimum give Coach Nielsen credit for making the right decision. He deserves that if you’re going to call him bungling.
For me, when you win a game against a good opponent and you don’t catch a break the whole game, that shows me we have character. There’s absolutely nothing wrong getting a W in such games. I’m proud of this team. We’re not great but we’re pretty damn good. Think of how far we came in one year. We have some players

Talk about pulling one out of our ass, but whatever it takes. My heart's still pounding. My big question: What happened to Thomas and Theis? Thomas has been suited up and on the sidelines the past two games and looks fine walking around and then Theis same thing second half and didn't see the field. Sure didn't look like either was injured and our running game went to hell the second half. Theis took himself out in 3rd quarter. Walked straight to training table.

But running out QB2 and trying to get them to jump and we end up with a false start, all after a timeout, was pretty bad in the moment.

Coach said postgame that Mansaray and Thomas should be back next week. I’m all for giving Theis a week off if true.

Gutted out a win when things looked pretty bleak in the 4th quarter. In past years we would have folded like a cheap tent. Not this season. Found a way in the end and that shows grit and toughness. The culture has done a complete 180 this year. Hats off to the staff and players for making this team fun to watch again. We're playing complimentary football in Vermillion and its fun to be a part of.
As others have said, crowd was small, but I thought the atmosphere was pretty good. Place was rocking when we were on D. Just wait until its full on 10/28 and hopefully 11/11.
Possible trap game next week at ISUb but I think this team is built different and will take care of business to set up an epic showdown in the Dome in 2 weeks!
Go Yotes!

100% the right decision on the punt at the end of the game. There was absolutely no other choice and would have been devastating if a different decision was made. It played out exactly as any coach would have hoped and got the W.
Coach Davis dialed up some terrific formations and play calls that go unnoticed, but we’re brilliant in thought and design. Impressive!
Also, timely defense was critical along with enormous QB pressure. Just enough to get a win.

Finally feels like we are "scheming" guys open, using multiple personnel groupings, using motion and formation to our advantage. Haven't felt this good about our OC since Caruso was calling plays.

It's fun to see so many freshman contributing!! Will make for some tough decisions on the 4 game rule!

I didn't like playing man coverage when we're up 21. Their rushing attack wasn't that impressive. Put in a 5th db and play zone. Make them burn time rather than give up two 60yd tds with only a minute or two used!
Wonder how YS board is taking it? Hee hee...

Also kudos to Aiden on a career high 369 yds along with 3 tds!! Also the ol gave up no sacks on 29 pass attempts.
The dl got 2 sacks but was held numerous times that weren't called! YS had 7 sacks last week.

For anyone keeping score, we only have 4 turnovers on the year, and somehow 2 of them are on our defense. Ganues both times gave the ball back following an INT and a fumble recovery.
In effect, 2 turnovers through 6 games. That has a lot to do with our success.

Bouman was outstanding. on offense we are banged up played some freshman who played well. The defense had a off day giving up some big plays and turnovers hurt but we beat a good team today.
