LOL - relax everyone. I would hope their message board thinks they will win. We would come up with scenarios on how we could knock off Michigan. We actually all thought we were going to lose last week and we definitely have the same thoughts this week. A walk on former WR is on our safety two deep. But hey, literacy apparently isn’t big here, or you didn’t actually read our board you dumb fuck easy, dude. We don't tolerate language (and flaming) like that on this board. Also, the guy you were quoting was clearly defending the posters on YOUR board, and their right to hope for the best.... Very strange target for your outburst. We welcome outside posters on here and tolerate them a lot better than most boards, ... but take it easy with the childish name-calling.

His preview shows that he thinks USD is the better team. Read our board. Don’t. I don’t care. If you want to discuss the game and learn about our team - our laugh over how bad Carson Camp is, we can do that. But I just don’t know how it could possibly be construed that our board thinks we are going to win.

But I just don’t know how it could possibly be construed that our board thinks we are going to win. I was talking about Gopheryote, who you quoted. He wasn't posting anything inflammatory, which is why I thought your choice to quote him was strange. I have read your board, and I thought that the poster over there that did the long detailed analysis of the matchup did a nice job. It was a fair analysis. Sounded like he had even watched some USD game footage, which is more than I've done for the Hornets. His analysis seemed to point to a USD win, but at the end, he suggested that we wouldn't have seen an offense as athletic or fast as yours outside of SDSU. It was optimistic. There was just one "out-of-context" quote from that analysis that could easily be used for locker-room motivation (which, TBH could be said for most locker-room motivations). It wasn't a mis-quote. Just out of context. We honestly don't need any additional motivation, though, because this Coyote team has played with a chip on their shoulder basically all season. Because they've been under-estimated all season. And the odds-makers are still under-estimating them. We probably won't be favored in a quarter-final game as the #3 seed in our own house. That's fine with me.

Well as a neutral party here I find this matchup to be quite interesting. The battle of an offensively challenged team versus a defensively challenged one. Should make for quite a strength/strength versus weakness/weakness situation and who can come up with plays on that side of the ball.
Typically when the top MVFC teams make the playoffs they hold command of both LOS and are able to eventually wear teams down. USD is build similar to this but not yet quite to the level of SDSU/NDSU. Is this the year they move closer to being one of those types of teams? This is the kind of matchup where you are able to establish you have reached that level. Make the opposing team one dimensional by taking away their running game and on the other side of the ball you run it down their throats. I can see this as what USD is going to want to do. Now can they do it? That will be what decides this ball game.

This game will be won based off explosive plays. Who can create them in the run and pass game and who can limit them on defense. I’m extremely impressed with the athleticism of Sac States QB and that’s worrisome because you can’t account for it unless you play a 3 man front and spy him all day (not a recipe for success on 1st and 2nd down) and takes away from one of our strengths, the defensive line play of our front 4 without having to blitz much.
We are better than they are upfront on both sides and I’m confident that our offensive skill players (RBs and WRs) are more talented when given time and space to operate. Most of their offensive skill production at WR is because their QB extends a play and it’s extremely hard to cover that long. No question our DBs have seen an extremely high level of WRs in this league so I think that’s a wash. Gonna be a fun and competitive one.

I've kinda considered this an FCS version of the Big Ten vs the Pac (whatever number you want).

It was a quote from your board taken out of context because that’s what opposing fan bases look for. USD has had to earn the recognition all season so when I see a sound bite, even if it’s not majority opinion, claiming how inferior we are I’m gonna jump on it. This is a very weird hill to die on especially on the yote fan page.

We are not a fanbase who gets in petty rivalries -- if the hosting were reversed we would open up our tailgates to you as we do all fans, even our rivals. Our two schools are playing football - it's a game for fuck's sake.

Which is probably a good thing. Don't want to see you get ban hammered as I do enjoy opposing fan discussions. Except for State fans....

We have a chance to put up some points -- but I don't see any way we can stop you guys outside of unforced turnovers. Our pass rush showed up at Stanford and has been MIA since - and the rushing and passing stats we've been giving up speak for themselves.
I do think we'll be able to move the ball a bit. Our main limitation there has been a first-year play caller who hasn't called plays outside of HS coaching many moons ago. A few games were awful to watch from a game planning perspective. But he kept things simple last week and allowed our skill players to make plays.
Also, any site on the internet that will ban someone for profanity in 2023 is a hilariously laughable concept.
USD wins by 11 is my prediction 38-27.

The XDSU's rosters listed 30+ seniors, many of them sixth year players. USD had seven senior/grad players listed on their roster. The six players getting the most playing time on the offensive line this season were one senior, one junior, three sophomores and one freshman. Might not be there quite yet, but we'll see what the future holds. Please underestimate us.

Also, any site on the internet that will ban someone for profanity in 2023 is a hilariously laughable concept. Is it? Then I guess we are just a little old-fashioned around here. I like it. Bulletin boards that tolerate posters being hateful to one-another, screaming profanities seems like a chaotic cesspool of a concept to me. I mean, we have posters on here that are boosters, media members, university staff, parents of athletes, etc. It's actually pretty fun to have some intelligent professional conversations with folks like that. Some offer some inside information that you wouldn't get elsewhere because of the anonymity. Conversely, sometimes the content that random fans (like me) on here post, end up being seen by others, and can be somewhat influential in subtle ways, like raising awareness of some of the cool things happening in lower-profile sports, for example. If this place were rampant with juvenile, profane-laden rants and trolling/flaming all the time, ... a lot of that cool stuff wouldn't happen on here. It would be more of a place for mouth-breathing basement-dwellers and politically extreme weirdos. No thanks. I like the vibe here better. It's easy in 2023 to find places to pick fights online with strangers. Article or video comment sections, twitter (X), reddit, 4chan, etc. It's harder to find places like this.
