USD wins by 11 is my prediction 38-27. That's a good guess. I was going to go with the under, but I think you guys get by us with a couple of explosive scoring plays, and a handful of field goals (our Red Zone defense is pretty solid - bend but don't break defense)... I think it's a close game in the first half, but by the fourth quarter we open up the playbook a little and pull away. USD 35-23 |

Also, any site on the internet that will ban someone for profanity in 2023 is a hilariously laughable concept. Is it? Then I guess we are just a little old-fashioned around here. I like it. Bulletin boards that tolerate posters being hateful to one-another, screaming profanities seems like a chaotic cesspool of a concept to me. I mean, we have posters on here that are boosters, media members, university staff, parents of athletes, etc. It's actually pretty fun to have some intelligent professional conversations with folks like that. Some offer some inside information that you wouldn't get elsewhere because of the anonymity. Conversely, sometimes the content that random fans (like me) on here post, end up being seen by others, and can be somewhat influential in subtle ways, like raising awareness of some of the cool things happening in lower-profile sports, for example. If this place were rampant with juvenile, profane-laden rants and trolling/flaming all the time, ... a lot of that cool stuff wouldn't happen on here. It would be more of a place for mouth-breathing basement-dwellers and politically extreme weirdos. No thanks. I like the vibe here better. It's easy in 2023 to find places to pick fights online with strangers. Article or video comment sections, twitter (X), reddit, 4chan, etc. It's harder to find places like this. Incredibly well stated take on what makes this board unique. Almost anywhere else you go on the internet anymore is filled with vitriol. Even some of our peers have forums that are just painful to visit, god forbid I bring up the forums for national names. |

I've kinda considered this an FCS version of the Big Ten vs the Pac (whatever number you want). I'd call it a more dominant version of the SEC vs Pac ___. Has the SEC ever won 10 titles in 12 years? Has the SEC ever sent 14 teams to the title game in a 12 year period? Big Sky had 2 reps and 0 titles in that timeframe, which is probably on par with what the Pac ___ has done. |

easy, dude. We don't tolerate language (and flaming) like that on this board. Also, the guy you were quoting was clearly defending the posters on YOUR board, and their right to hope for the best.... Very strange target for your outburst. We welcome outside posters on here and tolerate them a lot better than most boards, ... but take it easy with the childish name-calling. We had one poster post and he wasn’t defending the board. His preview shows that he thinks USD is the better team. Read our board. Don’t. I don’t care. If you want to discuss the game and learn about our team - our laugh over how bad Carson Camp is, we can do that. But I just don’t know how it could possibly be construed that our board thinks we are going to win. Dang it kiyoat. Now I feel like I can't post that the preview that is mentioned ends with "I’m going with another Hornet upset in a dome on the Great Plains. Survive and advance." Or the post that says "I agree that we can beat SD, and I think MSU goes down." And I definitely can't mention the multiple posts about where the Sac St/NDSU game will be played. And you are right - I was telling our fans to give the Sac St fans some grace on the previews. The comment about SDSU's offense wasn't a big deal. |

I didn't understand the comment earlier about our offense not being explosive and able to put up points. I get it when you look at the scores, but the scores don't always tell the story of what happened in the game.
Sometimes we win by pounding on teams with the run, playing solid D, good ST, complimentary football. We also have the ability to open it up when we want and make big plays. NDSU saw that first hand.
I would say the offense is diverse and dynamic. It can grind it out, it can pass it down the field, it can hit deep shots. In a playoff format, that's great, the ability offensively to do multiple things.
I would not say we are one dimensional by any stretch. This offense can hurt you in many different ways with many different players.

Just looking at the tickets still available, this is shaping up to be one of the best attended games this season, as it should be. I have some meetings in Verm tomorrow and am considering picking up a few extra tickets while I'm in town just so I can drag a few more casuals along on Saturday. Here's a question for the more seasoned fans in the group, when was the last time we had a football tailgate at the dome in December? I saw Dakota News Now is doing a "Road to Frisco" thing where they'll be live from Verm and that dump up north starting at 9 on Saturday. Everyone show up early.

I would wish you guys luck on Saturday - but now I am actually hoping Camp comes in off the bench with his messed up wrist and throws 11 TDs.
Will be interesting to see what a USD tailgate looks like this weekend when I arrive. Grape juice and blueberry muffins with not a soul drinking or swearing?
