Correcting something I wrote earlier. I think they just have one scholarship left. I wasn't accounting for the additional 2024 recruit, assuming she is on scholarship.

With just one spot left, I’d take the BPA (best player achievable) approach to the portal. If that’s a post, great. But, for example, I wouldn’t feel the need to pass up on a better wing with versatility for a questionable post.

Ruthie looks like a very nice post! Hoping we finally got some rim protection. I really know nothing about her though, did she take a red shirt year at Colorado? Also whoever had the idea to have the girls post the “I’m back” tweets is kind of a genius. It makes it harder for them to leave after posting that. Especially if the coach gets in more recruits that they think could take minutes from them. I do think we need a couple more as I’m not sure how ready some of our roster will be. Also, we have two scholarships left by my calculations. There were two non-scholarship players on the roster. Unless they end up giving them both a scholarship.

We may have two walk-ons. We know Mason is. We never did learn the identity of the other player who was not on scholarship last year. If it was one of the returning players next season, then it's potentially available.

Even without the experience, we suddenly have a lot of options at post with Haydon, RLG, Hillman and Wilke. We probably don’t need another true guard.

The question for me is "who can guard Brooklyn Meyer?" At least to make her work? I'm guessing that RLG can, but again, she hasn't played a minute of college basketball. I don't think the other three can. At least not next year. Wilke is pretty slight. Maybe she is wiry strong, but I'd have to see it first. Hillman looks to have size and strength, but she's transferring from a junior college, so skepticism is warranted.

RLG practiced last year with a good power 5 team . Hillman played but it was a JC. Having year is good its hard to come in as a freshman. I thing Carson at 61 and very athletic can help us I like this team our new portal players are a upgrade. Plus our new recruits look good. 2 girls who redshirted will be ready to go team looks deep. Getting a 4star post for a mid major is big.

No question, I like the possibilities of this team as well. Looking to be a potential outstanding freshman class (counting redshirts).

I feel so much better about next year than I did 3 weeks ago. We're better on paper but we still have to play the game. That being said, I fell much better about our coaching too.

Ruthie looks huge in that picture next to Coach E! It would be awesome if the team could convince Natalie to come back! The team looks really good right now!
Someone else commented about it earlier, but the "I'm Back" tweets were amazing! Great idea!

Four of the seven Idaho transfers have tweeted out a graphic saying "still a Vandal." Aadland, Nelson, Schweizer, and Hassman. Well, that leaves: 6-3 Soph Forward Ruthie Lomis (CU) 5-10 Jr Guard Anja Bukvic (LA Tech) 6-0 Sr Guard Tyler McCliment (SFA) And for the record, I have zero problem with sniping transfers from Idaho. Their AD has mishandled a situation in Women’s Volleyball with a terrible abusive coach who she failed to protect the players from. More interested in protecting the Vandals admin than the players. Screw them. McCliment-Call changed her commitment to Montana.
