This seems like a move one makes with the goal of staying in Vermillion for a long time. Very happy to see it happen.

Guessing by Gabby Johnson's most recent re-tweet that she might be heading to NKU to coach under their new HC Jeff Hans? Both She and Jeff coached at Thomas More College in Kentucky (NAIA - was D-III). He was a very successful HC there for 13 years, and she was a player and assistant just prior to his tenure. She also was an Assistant coach at NKU 2010-2012, so she has ties to both programs.

It appears that Coach Eighmey has her staff in place as there are no longer any job openings listed on the SDBOR website. Also, Bailey Morris is listed as the DBO on the Open SD Salary Database. Based on this info and earlier comments on this thread, the coaching staff appears to be as follows:
Head Coach - Carrie Eighmey
Asst Coach - Devin Eighmey
Asst Coach - Amber Cunningham (Hegge)
Asst Coach - ??
DBO - Bailey Morris

So far Kayla has not hired any one of her asst coaches she hired 2 from Wisconsin which is odd Dawn and Amy keep there coaches when they moved up. Well she not moving up maybe horizon league dont pay much

Well she not moving up maybe horizon league dont pay much I wouldn't frame this as a Summit vs Horizon kinda thing. USD is just a better job than Green Bay. That wasn't necessarily the case years ago, when Coach A.J. agreed to move to Green Bay (then backed out). Since then the SDSU and USD programs have become two of the best Division-I mid-major jobs in the country, and Green Bay has taken a step back. I think Kayla will be fine there. She can use her celebrity there to great effect in recruiting that region, which has a decent amount of talent. Also, Coach Borseth has retired, and as far as I know, is still living in Green Bay. I'd bet that he ends up helping her get a good start there, using his own contacts in the industry for assistants and for recruiting. He will be a good mentor. Plus, the Horizon isn't exactly a powerhouse league, and the GB program has some cache there, as a blue-blood of that conference. She will do just fine. Probably the best possible place for her as a new HC. Kayla put together her USD staff from scratch, and they were only together for a short time. Plus, she was making a lateral move, or step down. I'm not shocked they aren't following her to GB. |

Our new coach is bringing her own one who been with her for a while. Oswald was hired away from E Illinois so spent one year in vermillion I thought Monahan would have announced by now maybe they dont have a scholarship not all teams offer 15 like the Yotes do. Not that big of a deal we want her to go where she is happy. we are so deep with young players someone can step up

Cunningham joining the staff is obviously no surprise, but as to other position, most of us didn't have a guess. (  My apologies in advance, but I had to) Seriously, both appear to be great hires.
